purified water dissapearing at sanctuary

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 2:03 pm

it seems water is dissapearing from the workbench, i have 2 industrial purifiers and the settlments has 13 people and everything seems fine, no attacks lately, power is on, any suggestions? its possible not enough time has passed but it seems there was water there a lot until recently, the settlement otherwise is thriving, plenty of defense, crops etc. i even rang the bell and checked everyone and none of them had water on them.

Dunno if this is a intended feature, but it seems as though settlers will draw food and water from your workshop inventory. I've put food in my workshop for planting purposes only to find it gone when I get around to plantin it. You'll need to make a separate container of you want to keep settlers out of your gubbins. At the same time they'll need that food and water to be happy.

Are you sure you haven't been making food or chems that use purified water in their recipees?

1- all settlers consume (1) water and (1) food per day
2- if the local settlement produces food/water, settlers take their share from this daily production before a fractional proportion of the remaining excess is auto deposited (havent figured out what the fraction is, but definitely not 1:1 per production)

3-if the local settlement doesnt produce enough local food/water for their needs, then any stored food/water is used. If there are no stored food/water locally, but supply line exists, then the connected settlements excess production, or their stored supplies, is used.

4-if you see water disappearing from sanctuary, it is either settlers drawimg from that stockpile from other settlements

5-if all settlements have adequate excess production, but you still see disappearing water - then you have the bug i've seen inconsistently. My daily excess is deposited and builds up, like say 130 water stored, but then disappears. It is not consostent though, just random. Usually i just keep stockpiling my daily excess as expected, but every now and ghen, zap - huge chunk gone.

only workaround i do is i take about 65% of stockpile whenever i look and transfer it to a non-shared container. This leaves me with enough to craft, etc and lets me build up a huge stockpile of 'protected' water.

i ended up taking all the "aid" contents out of the workbench then went and did some stuff, came back and everything was fine, so it might be a glitch

I have about 280 water in Sanctuary. This gives roughly 160 surplus last time I checked, but I could be wrong. The problem is, once one surplus has been added, at least for me, it won't add anymore. Say I have 160 in my workshop, and I don't take it out and put it into my cooler. It will stay 160 for the entire game. I must remove the water in order to get more water. So far I have 400 or so water in my cooler, but it's a horrible inconvenience to be obligated to do what the game itself should automatically do for every settlement. Also, I must manually harvest my Sanctuary food. Or else no surplus will be added to the workshop. This has to get fixed ASAP. Along with every other annoying bug in this game.

I've been having this problem all night - I used to be able to withdraw 88 purified water every day from my workbench, but then it stopped working. If I used a cooking station, I could see my surplus water and use it for crafting, but it would not show in the workbench any more. I tried doing quests, fast travelling, waiting in Sanctuary and away from it, but nothing worked.

This may be a coincidence, but a hard reset of my Xbox One seems to have got everything working again (hard resets seem to fix many of FO4's issues, at least for a while, so I thought it might be worth a go).

definitely a bug

had this problem, where all my purified water disappeared from sanctuary including purified water i had found out in world all of a sudden and no more was ever being added by the purifiers.

i have 18 settlers in sanctuary 56 water production, 24 food production

8 settlers in abernathy farm, 20 water, 30 food

2 settlers at um i forget (is the settlement where you get the quest to clear corvega factory for them), 12 food, 9 water

so way more than enough and all my water disappeared and before reading this i was totally sure that i should have waaaaay more food in workshop and was scrathing my head about it, now i guess the food is bugged too?

didnt know about the food items so will be storing them all in a separate container now, which i was doing with purified water which is now working properly as in purifiers produce water i take it out store it in separate container including those that i find and its all still there.
