Putting Books on Shelves

Post » Sun Jun 06, 2010 3:24 pm

So, the other day I bought a house and decided to get some book cabinets too, to store all my lovely books I have. I figured it would be easy enough to put books on shelves, right?

Wrong. I almost put my fist through the computer. How am I supposed to do it? I tried using 'Z' to place them, but they all fall over or just drop to the floor. I can't get it to work - the most I can put is one book on one shelf, but I want them all neatly stacked.

Is there some command I can run to get the books neatly stacked? It's been bugging me insanse...I just wanted to have my books on a shelf so they look nice in my house.

No.

Collision in not just oblivion, but any game is known to act like magnets of the same polarity. Though coupled with the fact that many objects in oblivion have collision larger then the objects themselves only adds to this effect.

You can't stack books. Or anything for that matter.

:(

Ok then, is there a way of using the Console to forcefully generate a bookcase full of books...or would I only end up getting an empty bookcase anyway?

Maybe I'll just store the books in a chest or something...use the cabinets to put a sword on or something. :/

Get these two and you can place anything!

They were recommended in the "Have you read all the books" thread....for which I have no link

Thanks, I'll try those mods out...I had been running Oblivion unmodded for ages because TesNexus was a never-ending hole of annoying adverts that led to all sorts of dark places on the web that just annoyed the cr*p out of me. If they've turned a new leaf (it looks like it) I might fish around for some new mods while I'm at it. Thanks!

Havok Collision is mental. Probably the most entertaining and annoying collision system in any game. It has caused me many a hours of frustration.
I reccomend getting the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6021 mod Telvanni Arch-Magister suggested. i use it, and it has been like a saving grace.
As for TesNexus having all those pop ups, I think it was just a new advertising system they had. I download a lot of there, and haven't had anything malicious come from the site.

Seriously, it shouldn't be that hard, right?

Right! It shouldn't be that hard, but it is. (Without mods)
