But be aware, my fat cat is hiding in Bruma
I did huge seige battles, I had small skirmishes as I was traveling, I had a few one on one fights, I had about every kind of pvp I could think of over the weekend, I found it fun, I have done a lot of small scale pvp in other games, que up for the same ole mini game over and over to see the same people over and over, gets pretty boring after awhile to me, thats just my opnion..
I think the questing zones will lead to many small scale battles....I know I got ganked a few times & I know I ganked one or two people.
Cyrodil isn't just all about the Keeps.
I like the dynamic nature of it. I was 1v1 1v2 outside of an enemy keep and was doing fairly well and having fun up until they started coming out 3-4 at a time looking for me; then it became a mini game of hide 'n seek and choosing my targets more carefully. Later on, I hooked up with 3 others roaming about the same area and we duked it out with another handful of players doing the same. There always seemed to be places between the large siege battles to do solo pvp, small group skirmishes, etc. and tend to things that need captured. The small scale pvp is definitely there. Its just not handed to you in a generic queue system consisting of the same familiar maps. Small scale pvp is easy to find though. Just go stand between two different colored keeps and be mindful of the zerg.
Um isnt games like wow have had this for lik 7-8 years without any world pvp. Yet you come and want the same or something similar ?
For your information you can have great 8 men vs zerg fights and win with proper teamwork and with a good set up , fyi i dont like zerg and i always roll with smaller 4 to 8 groups .
I wish there was at least one avenue for structured pvp in this game as well. However, it has been demonstrated many times that the majority of people on these boards despise structured pvp, and are only interested in world pvp.
Personally, world pvp can be fun, but I prefer balance and a challenge of skill compared to sieges and chaotic random encounters.
I guess we will see. It has been mentioned several times today that the last beta was an old client with no changes made to the bugs. It was purely a stress test. The game client on the Private Test Server is updated and supposedly addresses most if not all of these issues.
Time will tell.
Because there's not organization yet. In beta, most all of us play alone. On launch, we'll join guilds with like interests. I'll be looking for a guild that likes to roam small man, 8 would be perfect. Not everyone will 100+100 zerg.
Choice. Provide it. I offer two courses of action:
The second COA would include the impossiblity of killing quest-givers/camping.
That would be a win-win for both PvE and PvP players.
The only PvP players who could possibly oppose both those courses of action are griefers who want to force PvE players into their own style of play.
um again there so many videos of 1vs1 4vs or 6 and 8 vs others and they doing fine . your doing something wrong if u think is only 100vs100
BALANCE. The one word that makes me totally against arena type PvP.
This game is currently designed for the classes to "compliment" each other, and not "compete" with each other. As soon as you introduce arenas, you introduce all the cries of balance, imbalace, OP, and worthless classes, which results in a complete redesign of the classes and combat. No, thank you.

It's why I bought the ICE.
I really think that had more to do with the ISP for them. During that period Blizzard and other places were having a lot of issues with servers as well.
So you're saying that the current pvp has no competition? Or are you saying that the current pvp system requires little balance?
I don't care at all about the PvE part of the game, i'm only interested in it because of the world pvp. If you want to do arenas or whatever then either play WoW or tell your favorite enemies to get a group and meet them somewhere, not like the map is too small for that.
If you want to see damage stats and big numbers at the end of an "arena" to make you feel better then that's your own problem.
We seen how balance arena was . After 6 years the decided they wouldnt balance for 2vs2 and 5vs5 and complete discard that ranks . Aftwards they just focosued 100% on pve and screwed everything.
Again there is small skirmish pvp just fine , and at last after so many years there is a great open world focused pvp cause enough is enough with the arena - bgs bottleneck pvp
Yea with no arena pvp i think it will go the way GW2 PvP went as in people will run and run for 1 month zerging and swarming... then they will be bored that they can`t do some Arena PvP with rewards and try other PvP games....
We need arena pvp added... badly.
I'm saying that the current PvP isn't balanced for 1v1. As it stands now, certain classes would shine in 1v1 and certain classes wouldn't get played.
But, just because a class wouldn't get played in 1v1 arena doesn't mean it doesn't fit in well in a group dynamic.
Or, maybe people will have to learn tactics instead of just zerging....
I am not a fan of arena pvp. That said, I think the biggest problem over the weekend was the massive faction imbalances. When one faction (AD) has population to lock 4 or 5 campaigns population wise, and the other two factions able to lock two or less, it will become a zerg quickly that the other factions cannot handle. If the populations were more even, the map locations would not have been pushed as far yellow as they were, and smaller groups would have been better able to escape what was basically spawn camping on a huge map.
With any luck, launch will have better numbers on all sides.
I was able to do both small group(me and my brother against 2 or 3 others), one on one, and part of the zerg. I was happy, for the different types, although ultimately so many on the side of AD meant I was eventually found and overrun.
look for those that argue PvP in cryo is non competitive I have to ask what your talking about. What is more competitive then striving to be the emperor? or beating your opponent at keep warfare, resource locales, or interdiction?
If you seriously think Cryo only offers large scale zerg PvP I encourage you to go out alone and challenge yourself. This game allows you the flexabillity to think outside the box in PvP.
Find a battle sight sneak up there and attack them from behind and get some free kills then try and get away alive. How anyone can say an open map with the potential to find an enemy anywhere is not intriguing or entertaining?
There is so much more then just the resource sits and keeps that can be potential PvP areas.
Thats not being a fan boy of ESO thats being a fan of PvP.
My opinion too man.
Hell we had one 20 man of us go away from the zerg, head over to a random castle, take over the resources and eventually the KEEP too... had to fight hard for it but we got it, all by ourselves.
We celebrated and the famous Victory Band held a concert at the keep in our honour.
I hear ya there. Even though I greatly enjoyed my experience thus far, I would still like to see some WoW Warsong style capture the flag type areas implemented because they were an absolute blast There are a ton of unfinished ruins and city type structures in Cyrodil that could serve the purpose of such mini games. I wouldn't be surprised if such features were added later on right within the current map since Cyrodil is such a vast landscape anyways.
