Pvp eso already bored. Please Read DEVS

Post » Tue Mar 18, 2014 2:27 pm

Dear ESO Fans,

It is not to offend the game developers,

But from experiances from 1995 till 2014 i have to say that, the idea how the pvp is at the moment is great!

But sadly being 1hour in the battleground it felt really boring.

1. Few mobs in a whole zone, not random bosses spawning in the map for mass pve/pvp.

2. Just taking castles 1by1, nothing special happening then just insane lagfest.

3. No duel, no guildcapes, no arena's.

4. There are games that came out in 2001 that had all these things????

5. How can a nowadays Engine that is just copy paste in the zone what woud take 1hour to make a arena!!!!!!!!!not be able to implement this are u really kidding me??????????????????

Please more updates ASAP please big bosses in pvp zones just to do something else then zerging castles. maybe add 1000 random bosses spawning at random times...

Imo the game feels to empty atm.

*** For example make it able to beat all the castles, the winning faction has the oppertunity to invade the capital city of the enemy and kill a king??? ***

Ok it was a sentence... Im not just actualy 1hour in the bg ofcourse! but the WHOLE BIG PVP ZONE is just empty(And repeatmode). no mobs nothing, and why are u all complaining im giving the DEVS thinking what they can add in the future. For a new age MMORPG. They coud add more Game modes to the game. Look at any other game they got serveral modes to play. Just trying to make the game even more fun, and hope the devs will take action!

Sincerely,

I played over 20 hours of pvp this weekend with my friends and we didnt had enough of it. Maybe actually join a campaing thats populated if you actually want to PVP.

Also PVP is fine. Next!

I zerged once. It is boring.

But then I did other things. Was somewhat fun.
Far too Battlefieldy though... Maybe we should have rapid blasting staves. Bam bam bam! That destroy the environment; and remove auto-hit, so people are seeking cover and blasting at each other.

I stopped reading here. You spent one hour in Cyrodiil, which is hardly enough time to make a valid complaint about it.

My advice is to not follow the crowd. Go off on your own, or with a small group. Hell, start a forbidden romance with someone in an enemy faction...

I'll first address your notion about dueling, arenas and guild tabards; just because something has been done before, doesn't mean game companies have to keep doing it. They have broken up the PvP in Cyrodiil to appease many different crowds, if you read any of the introduction quests or interacted with any of the message boards you'd have noticed that there are many different objectives; you can choose to do all of them or single out the ones you like.

For example; if you want a capture the flag experience, you can restrict yourself to only taking Elder Scrolls from enemy keeps. If you want a more solo and scenic adventure, you can undertake a scouting mission. There are quests for rading parties and keep taking too, as you mentioned.

I'm not quite sure what you meant by your copy and paste statement, can you explain? Again though, it isn't that they can't implement these things, it's just that they obviously didn't want them in their game, at least not at the moment. There are many games with these features though, so without sounding too harsh, maybe this game isn't for you?

Only thing that matters to me here: Guild capes, YES PLEASE!

Battlefield can be real fun if you go in with a nice group.

So can this. Take 10 people and snatch an elder scroll from the all dominating Dominion. There you go, fun!

I miss the siege skills/specialisation from DAoC. Having anybody able to insta-erect and remove siege engines as though they are inflatable tents removes a mechanism that would make the siege aspect more interesting.

And yes to guild capes, too! Preferably ones with a background or trim that matches the faction colour so we don't have to rely on the bar/icon over each player.

You're actually not giving the developers anything new or innovative. You're giving them ideas that have been around since the dawn of gaming time. I can say with absolute certainty they are well aware of such features, they've just chosen not to use them.

As for the area being copy and paste, it's actually the same height map that was used in Oblivion; it's fundamental to the integrity of the franchise that they keep these zone as close to what is was in Oblivion as possible. They can't go switching up an iconic zone from Elder Scroll lore, simply because Crushon from the forums doesn't like it.

As for there being no monsters? Please.. there are dozens of caves, keeps, farms, mill, mines, ruins, camps and castles full of enemies; both NPC and PC. You obviously haven't really taken an extensive look at the zone.

You're being very selective in your argument against PvP. You do realise that taking Keeps is only one of the PvP options available in Cyrodiil?

If you are bored by zerging castles I would advise to do something else.

Considering your topic where you said this game shouldn't even have quests, I have difficulty beleiving you've even played the game sufficently.

ESO has far more in common with DAOC than it will ever do with GW2.

edit: Cirrected for spelling and stuff.

How about cutting of people reinforcement lines and picking stragglers? Burning their siege engines from stealth? How about taking a chokepoint with small group and annoyin the hell out of the enemy faction? There are also lots of PVE stuff to do...looks like people get bored because they expect the "quick-fix", I start to understand the requests for the Arenas/Battlegrounds - they are like the Fast-Foods of PvP.

I haven't had this much fun in PvP for over 10 years in MMOs, the PvP design is spot on, one of the things that does not need changing at all.

Well you can get involved in the direct assaults, as you mentioned; you can also support the main army by setting up siege weapons, reinforcing keeps, placing tents, uprading guards or raising the dead. These are just the options at your disposal when assisting the main offensive. There are however other objectives that can be done by smaller or solo groups;

Scouting Missions; can be done solo and require you to advance deep behind enemy lines undetected and file a report on the surrounding area. These missions are very dangerous, but confrontations can be avoided all together. You're rewarded PvP points, ranks and experience for doing these. I can say from personal experience that these are very satisfying.

Bounty Missions; where you're asked to take out high profile enemy targets. These can be done solo or as a group. I haven't tried them myself, but they sound interesting.

There are also Battle and Warfront boards which allow you to focus on either taking down keeps or taking out enemy resources. The Elder Scrolls that are placed across the map also act as a Capture the Flag mechanic. I only spent a few hours in Cyrodiil, so I can't comment on these systems in depth, but one thing was clear to me from the get go; I have an abundance of choice, unlike a lot of PvP in previous titles.

The only thing i agree with from the OP is more NPC's in cyrodiil. The zone is very big (for a good reason i might add) but it does feel a bit empty when you don't happen to run into an enemy zerg.

More giants, lions, maybe roaming soldier patrols(far from the keep they are based at), etc etc. I said so in the post-beta questionnaire, as well.

There are also a lot of NPCs scattered around that give quests, but you have to go looking for them. And dungeons, but I didn't have the balls to go into one of those solo.
