PvP Gear

Post » Fri Feb 21, 2014 9:55 am

Hey guys, I've really been doing a lot of research in efforts to quench my ESO thirst, but I can't seem to find much information on the purchasable PvP gear. Any links to video's, databases and such would be greatly appreciated. Specifically I'd like to see what such gear looks like and what bonuses they offer.

Thanks!

EDIT: When I said PvP gear, I meant gear purchasable through spending Alliance Points.

The gear is displayed beginning at 8:05 in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-18qjhldUZM

There is no specific PVP gear with PVP-only stats. You can gain green and blue gear via pvp by turning in the pvp currency that I'm currently blanking on the name of. I think it's great that we don't have to worry about 2 sets of gear like in other games :).

I'm sorry, I should have phrased my question a little better. I'm referencing the gear that can be purchased by using the Alliance Points (the currency you couldn't think of =P). I saw a video a little bit ago that had a person talking to an NPC. The NPC had gear for sale, Blue and Purple, with a very high amount of Alliance Points needed to purchase said gear. THAT is the gear I'm trying to locate information/pics on.

Ah! I didn't realize that purples were also available. I only saw green and blues, but then again, I was always in a rush to get back to the fight.

You don't buy a piece of gear with Alliance points really. When I was in beta the vendors sold boxes with a random piece of gear in it i.e. "Large armor piece box". They were color coded though so you knew what quality level it would be.

It's just randomized gear. Comes with a base item type (randomized within certain categories, like I think "large armor" is chest or legs), an enchantment, and a trait. You could get the same gear out of a chest.

Exactly! That stuff is beast. I've seen no mention of it, anywhere. Perhaps nobody had really paid enough attention to the footage in that video.

The prices are incredibly high tho, so as a guess I'd say that that gear is your "End Game Alliance/PvP" gear. As most pieces ranged anywhere from 50,000-250,000 points to purchase, a full said would be upwards towards 1,000,000 points.

Vendor's name is Clairene Jerick. Currently ESOhead has her listed, but no info is available on her location. Also I notice that gear has no level requirement, but rather alliance war rank requirements. So that's interesting.

It's possible these vendors were removed from normal Beta.

Yes, it was promised, and yes its legendary scale gear. Now the real interesting thing about the gear is that you can purchase it for points. You will combine it with other gear to fill out gaps in the looted gear you have.

There are 5 piece set bonus's on the gear. So it will be ideal to have all 5 pieces rather than just to use them as fill-ins :)

Ah, that's a very good point. I don't know why I didn't think of that. ha. They were indeed, most likely removed from the beta.

And I'm more interested in the gear that the Orc has for sale!

its just randomized gear, the same as you would get as loot drops with mobs except you know a little more about what you're getting. theres not PVP and PVE specific gear.

I guess ya didn't watch the video as recommended? There are certainly "Epic" purple gear pieces for sale from the two vendors. And yes, some of the bonuses say "Such and such bonus against players".

It most certainly is not randomized gear. There are complete sets with 3 and 5 piece bonus's. They vary in rank from 1-10. If you pause the video while he is browsing, you can read all of the item descriptions

When he is browsing the clothier, you can see in the background what appears to be one of the two main bases for DC. I searched both of them high and low during last beta as I played an Orc on DC to lvl 17 and I didn't see these vendors. So yeah, odds are they were left out during the standard beta weekend.

^Just for an example.

the armour boxes that we were shown were.

they have made it clear that there are no PVP or PVE specific gear or bonuses then. whatever bonuses or set bonuses that armour had you will be able to learn outside of PVP and craft it yourself.

The items are very expensive though. So it isn't something you can just grab after a little time in Cyrodiil. Even the rank 1 items are 100k alliance points. At lvl 16 it was all I could do to earn 6k to buy a forward camp lol. So just a shot in the dark I'm going to guess that you won't be able to afford this gear till at least lvl 30.

you're are really paying for convenience though. once people start getting good with crafting you will see people selling stuff like this themselves or in guild stores. or hell if you get good at crafting you can do it yourself, it will just take time and money in getting the materials

Yeah I am in no way insinuating that equal gear cannot be crafted. I hope it can. I'm only saying that going by the vendors in this video, you can use alliance points to buy epic gear sets. The Covenant light armor set for example has a 4 piece bonus that reduces damage from players by 5%. That set is clearly designed for PvP. Most of the other set bonus's you see can be applied to both PvP and PvE as they are damage or mitigation in general.

You very well may be able to craft this set. Only time will tell.

Oh i noticed the prices in the video. Like I said earlier, about 1,000,000 points for a full set of the good stuff.

Which I will most certainly be going for the "Twin Sisters" set, which is Medium Armor. - Each piece adds 72 max Stamina

(3 Items) : Adds 67 max Stamina

(5 items) : When Blocking, 20% chance to cause the attacker to bleed for 167 physical damage.

And, I've just noticed this, the gear that the NPC is wearing, is in fact how the gear that they're selling looks.

And Crazy Al, you're right, it's convenience. It will all depend on what you want to end up spending, or have to spend in the long run once ppl can craft statistically equal gear, gold or Alliance points.

no my point is that there are no sets or bonuses unique to the PVP shops. they have made a big deal about there being no PVP/PVE specific gear and also about crafters being able to create everything. whatever set the armour is part of you will be able to make yourself.
