PvP records - KillDeath ratios

Post » Thu Mar 13, 2014 12:34 am

As an avid PvP'er, I would love to see the implementation of a view-able Kill/Death record for individuals. This give a lot of us PvP'ers something to be proud of. Also, for those of us who won't have the time to invest to reach the top of the Alliance Points leader-boards, we would still have something to show off for our skills in PvP.

And to accommodate those that do not wish to share their record, simple make an option to hide it.

Thoughts?

If you agree, be sure to mention this in your post-beta weekend survey.

I guess for me, it would depend on the metrics of what counts as a kill. Whoever did the most DPS gets the credit?

Currently I get like a million kills to every death, but that's because they are group kills.

Can't wait to steal all those last hits and cloak while running away.

Kill/Death records don't really show your skill to be honest.

You could be not only fighting noobs but you could be getting kills in the protection of a group of 30 friends.

People get to know your skill level after time by countless raids and fights and visually seeing how good you are. It's how it worked in EQ2, Vanguard, and especially Darkfall. Eventually word goes around and people get to know you.

You're correct, it doesn't always show skill. But more often than not, ppl with 3000 kills - 700 deaths are usually pretty damn good.

And just as "Age of Conan" did it, the person who did the greatest percentage of damage is awarded with the kill.

Maybe a stat of "Duel Wins" would mean more.

Oh God, no. I'm trying to get away from stuff like CoD and BF. But seriously - if you want to know/view yours, that's fine. I don't want know mine and couldn't care less about others. And I don't want you to see mine either. So if they do decide to implemement something like this, I hope it becomes a stat that isn't staring you in the face and is only available for any individual to see for their own characters.

Oh no, I want to see how many ppl I have slain overall.

And yes, I mentioned that (a option to hide the stat from others).

It's basically inevitable that it will eventually be implemented. Just like duels. And dozens of others things they for some reason didn't include in this MMO.

If it was implemented it would most likely just be on a "leaderboard type website", not in-game.

Is that how it awards them, or do you mean that's how you would want it to show for K/D numbers?

I was confused a lot about how kills work in Cyrodiil. I did what I think is the smart thing for a first time in and just jumped in with the biggest groups and I noticed seemingly pretty much any time I targeted and threw out a ranged skill at an enemy I got a kill. It is hard to imagine that with that one skill I did the highest percentage of damage. Maybe it was just a high damaging skill I'm not sure but I barely died because I would always run in then retreat back to set up siege equipment and get a bunch of kills that way lol I wouldn't consider myself good yet.

I am just asking cause I would like to know forsure if there is a set way that you are rewarded a kill and/or ifmultiple people can get a kill for one enemy's death.

These kinds of Call of Duty leaderboard things promote a "get that killing blow" play style that is at odds with the point of the strategic scale capture-and-hold Cyrodiil keeps that ESO PvP revolves around. I'd prefer that no mini leaderboards/ratings be added.
