PvP zerg and too much resources

I like the subject "PvP is Zerg" and "Too much resources". I am not here to speak against ex-daoc players, or any other 1337 player. Please do not agro here, because I do not want my thread to be closed again. I am pointing here to the earlier topic as well, that was closed.

I think MMORPG games do not really have good tactical aspect. Anyone who says differently, has all rights to say so.

I am not a great daoc player, so only comment to the video in the earlier thread.. It seems that you exploited one OP skill, that all started to Z? Sleep? and nuked them after? I hope that this kind of skills will be fixed asap from TESO, because those are clearly broken mechanism. If broken mechanism makes the game to be godlike, then that is your opinion and you have all rights to have one.

Why this kind of RvR/WvW/AvA games are zerg then... Well, now everyone here is speaking from daoc 8 man groups with 1337 skillz. You were able to do that because daoc was a small game. If TESO will succeed, you will have organized zerg to face. Your 8 man will face guild of 80 organized players. Your 8 man will see that organised 80 man zerg is something more than the regular daoc zerg.

Even in this so hated WvW, a smaller organized group was able to destroy much larger zergs.

Now every ex-daoc is totally excited about TESO, that is nice. I am still waiting to see how you like 100 vs 100 organized zergs. Your own skill really does not matter that much, it is all about when we go, where we go, together. You just listen your commanders voice, you run to the place where called, you faceroll your skills that were defined earlier, you hit the named target, etc.

In one way it is tactical, but when you play this kind of huge fights, it really does not have it. It is boring as hell as well.

So yes, unfortunately, I have to agree with williamnbentley.

TESO can work, I am not saying it cannot. One very important thing is that it should not offer too powerful heals, too much resources and regen, too fast resurrection, imho. More there is, zergier it gets, even for ex-daoc players.

If you have 80 organized players in a group it's not really a zerg any more. Calling a large group a zerg is because they are not organized or not well organized.

And the skill in large scale battles between two or more organized armies are not really about killing, it's about not dying. For the individual player in a large scale battle that for an example feature 100 vs 100 players is to stay alive rather then getting as many kills he can before he dies. Because if player A dies in a large group it suddenly becomes easier to kill player B and if B dies C gets easier to kill and so on.

PS: Of course the best way to make sure you stay alive is to kill every one that try to kill you first.

What you're not seeing behind the Zzzz and mez spells are the cool downs, realm talents and such that go into making it very competitive. I'm not here to flame or any of the such. But there is a lot more to it then ZZzz and nukes. As a former player who witnessed both sides of that kind of video I can tell you. There is a TON more going on there than meets the eye.
