pyffi - am i doing it right?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 7:48 am

i'm trying to pyffi the vanilla meshes.bsa but i have no idea how long i should expect it to take? i extracted the meshes package to the pyffi/utilities/toaster/in folder, then i run the oblivion_optimize.bat. i don't get a UAC prompt in Windows 7 which seemed odd.

it's been running about 4 hours and it's still only on the 1st pass, i don't know if it's actually done anything but the cpu seems to be running very hot.

i have a core duo 1.8ghz + 2gb ram.

Depends, really. Some bunches take longer than others. One of the vanilla BSAs, I think either the main Oblivion one or the SI one, generally takes folks upwards of 10 hours on an average CPU. It's supposed to be taxed as PyFFI uses as much of the resources as possible. It will tell you when it's done, just a heads up.

Yes, it's got a lot of stuff to go through. It makes sense once you know how and what it does exactly.

thanks for the help. finally got it pyffi'ed, it actually does make a noticeable difference, running it on ultra-high with constant 30-35fps.
