I really doubt it, Bethesda games cant process anything while a movie is playing, its a trailer it is supposed to look cinematic I can almost promise you that it will not be exactly like that in game. Your not gonna stand there for 2 secs heaving after the dragon breathes fire on you or after you cut one
also there are too many fighting techniques to be quick time events

Would be a very sad day indeed. Assume they are just scripted animation that kicks in after killing Dragon in normal play, and that's bad enough if you are the 1st person only type.

Yea, but that dragon fight looked so good. It just didn't have the clunkiness of an elder scrolls fight, the character was even breathing hard at the end.

I read somewhere on the forums that Pete stated that it was all dynamic and everything in the trailer but the wall happens in game. So the dragon fight we all saw is exactly how we will fight the dragons. Sorry if I misunderstood the post i'm really tired :)

so the combat improved and its a TRAILER they are trying to make it look as best as they can so they are going to add stuff like breathing hard, they said the trailer was in the game engine, but not actual gameplay

but I really doubt you have to worry about it because there will be so many weapons and possibilities to fight you wont be able to make quick time events for all of them

The only way the dragon fight could be in-game is the actual in-game fight with cinematicly moving camera IMHO. But I doubt it, I think Hines meant it's built on the engine or something. Anyway, some of the scenes, like flying around Markath's tower, definitely can't be seen from PC's eyes, so it's not that in-game.

Well If they are QTE can we edit them and add new ones?
Thats can be interesting feature for modding expectedly if add some checks of character statistic in scripts.

Well, fighting will lower stamina, and low stamina could trigger panting!

Sure it can. ~tcl, fly the PC around the tower while recording. Or, ~tfc, separate the camera from the PC in-game and fly it around the tower while recording.

the only real "creative editing" or whatever in the dragon fight was the camera angle changes, which while they likely wouldn't happen like that in-game doesn't mean that the fight wasn't actually FOUGHT, and the best bits of it cut out to make the fight for the trailer.

you can recreate that in any Bethesda game by typing "tfc" into the console.

like i don't get why people are going NONE OF THAT CAN BE IN-GAME when we know virtually nothing about the small bits of the game. i've even seen people go THE WAY HE STOPS AT THE CLIFF EDGE AND THROWS HIS HAND OUT IS TOTALLY FAKE. it's like everybody started the series with Oblivion or something and cannot grasp at all the drastic differences between each and every TES title.

i mean seriously they've been working on this game for five [censored] years. even if the graphics do look identical to Oblivion like everyone is saying (fun fact: they don't), then what the hell have they been doing all this time? do you really think they just started working on the game a month or so before they announced it?

(also that rant wasn't directed at you in particular)

I do agree that we have no idea what they can actually do, but I dont think panting will be in, if it is you will probably be able to move while panting, how frustrating would it be to block once then have to wait 2/3 seconds to attack

Pete said it was actual gameplay. And the breathing is almost certainly a game feature o_O

I hope there aren't, but there may be some in the Dragon fights in some vain effort to make the combat seem more buzzword.

Game: Press X to behead dragon!
Player: X
Game: You have beheaded dragon! Good job! Have some loot!
Player: Yes! Loot! Wait a second, this was extremely boring. I'm going to go and play outside.

Guys I think that QTEs will cure obesity.

I wouldnt mind QTE as finishing moves instead of just sitting there and watching my character jump onto a dragons head(ala Dragon Age), but not for the actual fight.

I heard that as well, but define "gameplay". Technically, a QTE or a button press triggered animation would still be "gameplay". I just hope they don't go the route of Deus Ex 3 with Skyrim. I was so pumped for that game until I saw some recent gameplay. It turns out that all the great, brutal melee attacks in the game are initiated by simply getting close to an enemy or two, and pressing a button. Then the camera pans out and shows you a cool video of you killing someone. If the "fatalities" in Skyrim are the same one button press and watch an animation, I will be pretty disappointed. I would rather they just let the enemies go limp after their health is drained, and whatever move you perform after that would be the "fatal" blow and would have brutal effects. I just think specific killing animations get old really quickly.

As for the dragons, I don't see how that could not be scripted. What if you killed it in a forest? Would the dragon have physics and have collisions with all the objects there? Would it still kick up the dirt and debris? If you killed it next to a cliff, would it fall off so that you would not be able to svck its soul or whatever you do to them? It just looked too perfect. I would love to be proven wrong though!!!

QTE don't automatically make a game bad. It's just that they're worse than actual gameplay.

QTEs are horrible and it would be very sad if Skyrim have them, but I very much doubt Skyrim will have QTEs.

They might not necessarily make a game like God of War bad, but in my opinion (and I'm sure many other ES purists), they just would not fit in the series. It is just wayyyy too arcade-y and non-immersive to fit in a game like Skyrim. Imagine: you are wandering around a beautiful, magestic forest listening to the ambiance and amazing musical score, stalking a creature with your bow, when suddenly TROLL ATTACK!!! GIANT, COLORFUL FLASHING BUTTONS RAPIDLY SCROLL ACROSS THE SCREEN!! MUST PRESS THEM IN ORDER, OR I WILL HAVE TO TRY AGAIN!!! Kinda takes you out of the moment, you know? QTE's are one of the few things that could possibly make me not purchase this game.

No QTEs I mean the closest game to Skyrim in terms of the scale of the main enemies has to be Shadow of the colossus , and that game is great, one of the best games of last gen and it had no QTEs at all just the way I like it:P

I'm pretty sure it was just a scripted cinematic made specifically for the trailer.
