Quad-core crash

Post » Wed Jun 29, 2011 6:39 pm

Hello everybody, I read some of the threads already posted on this site and noticed that there are lots of people with my same crash issues with Fallout3.
I have the Game of the Year edition and I run it on a brand new HP quad-core notebook... Long story short, I'm experiencing random crashes every few minutes to half an hour of playing.
I've tried to play without patches, then to install them, but it doesn't seem to change very much.
I've tried to change the .ini file too with the 2 changes written everywhere on the net but nothing happened.

The crash seems to occur often while in buildings (the [censored] police HQ took me forever)..

Can anybody help me?

(or at least tell me if new vegas runs better?)

New Vegas does run better. When you edited the Fallout.ini file did you make sure to edit the one in My Documents>My Games>Fallout 3?

Yes it's the "FALLOUT.ini" in Documents/Fallout3 directory...
It's frustating how it seems to randomly work for somebody and doesn't work for others :(

I'm trying to play the game in windowed mode, I'll let you know if it gets better anyhow.
