From the "Stomping across the snows of skyrim" report":
Magic in the demo area was limited to three spells at the start, but each had cool effects, particularly the flame spell that shot a jet of fire forward, capable of setting the ground and trees alight or cooking bandits before they even had a chance to land a hit.

I knew the ground would scorch but didn't realize we can burn trees!!! :)

Thats old news. Id like to know if that spell is a press and hold spell button spell that constantly drains magicka and deals damaged based on skill/level/perks.

You don't have to bank perks immediately though – if you are trawling through the constellations and spot a perk you want that requires a higher attribute value than one you have at the moment (Destruction 40 vs. your current Destruction 21, for example), you can simply wait until you've met that requirement.

I'd like to know as well. I'm surprised none of the previews mentioned the controls at all.

GameInformer's preview is more like a half that's why I said 3 and a half ....
Also GameInformer's preview didn't include a person actually playing a game more like a person observing others play , so I don't think that their guy was one of the 13 anyway ...

From the ign article: "Leveling unlocks a point to allocate to one of numerous skill trees, from lockpicking to schools of magic to light and heavy armor, bows, blacksmithing, block, pickpocketing and a lot more."

Seems to me that this is saying pickpocketing is the elusive stealth skill we've all been wondering about!

I dont want to know how the game starts, or how the the plot goes, or what factions will do what - that would ruin the game for me.

What I want to know are little things like how does magical charging work and to what extent can I charge a spell in terms of mana, do khajits and argonians have beast legs, what are the gameplay controls like for the console, what are some of the magic perks and thief perks?

I think it's been fairly obvious for a while that it's not in. I don't expect to see it.

I'd personally like to see a bit of blacksmith/weapon crafting coverage.
I've been hoping that it's going to be an actual physical thing where you use the hammer and
such in real time. :tes:

I can't wait to see some of this stuff in-game. It sounds like they're being genuine when they say it looks and feels miles ahead of Oblivion.

The lockpick game sounds like a hybrid of OB and FO3's systems, which is also pretty cool. I hope we hear about more new creatures in the coming days as well.
