QuakeCon Predictions

I suspect we will get enough information leaked or released for yet another (very fun) round of wild donkey speculation!

Either way, it should hopefully clarify a few things that are currently in the rumour mill.

like the whole skills thing everyone is swearing up and down are removed because of a perk poster and no screen in the e3 demo?

It's possible we'll see something kinda like the Skyrim play through, not exactly the same though. Start by hiking along, demonstrate various weapon types on minor enemies, show how the grenade trigger works. Skills and perk system talked about. Next talk about settlement creation and how its in game central console serves as the brain. Last start you on a figurehead quest where you see how the dialogue works, and you are shown the other finer details of the game engine features. End it with a little about the premise of the main quest, and maybe a finale of one against many with no victor shown, a bit of a cliff hanger.

Whatever we see, afterwards it will be dissected to the point we need to talk about why a minor characters eyes twitched, or if Hermaeus Mora isn't the ghost in the machine behind it all... the stuff Drakenred needs for fulfillment . WE are going to get a lot of info but we'll still have more questions than answers....

Is Quakecon usually info oriented or gameplay oriented? Cuz I wouldn't mind some new, concrete info. Like perks. I would like to see a complete list of perks. Of course they could just show gameplay and then the more dedicated fans will dig up a treasure trove of info anyway.

From what I remember with Skyrim's quakecon reveal, it was gameplay related...I'm not 100% on that though. They revealed a 35 min Skyrim demo back in 2011 for quakecon.

The bit I'm looking forward to is right at the end where a certain member of Lyons' BoS sticks out his hand and say's "Hi, Arthur Maxson. Good to have you on board." That, and the cool outro where the number 111 gets morphed into 11.10.15 (and then Tobuscus can make another awesome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMKJ9fDM2mo! Yeah, I know that one was a trailer, but you know what I mean)

If either of these actually make it into the demo, I will be more than a little bit freaked out lol!

Just to clarify, I was merely trying to make a point with the post you quoted. Most game developers make use all kinds of unusual connections, whether it be to do with dates or other seemingly random real world data or events. This is particularly true of Bethesda, especially when we consider how deep and lore-rich their games usually are. The example I gave above was just something that popped into my head when I looked for a possible link between the 'slightly satirical' comment that the numbers originated from and the actual game itself :)

I got your point. The applause was for the creativity. I have a weakness for conspiracy theories, whether they be real (i.e. some people believe them) or made up (to mock said people). I count Eco among my favourite authors.

I know, and I did appreciate the applause :D

And I definitely relate to your view on conspiracies, as well as the very talented Mr Eco.

Random guess: They'll show off some of the snide/ass dialog.

I really hope not, because then it makes it hard to speak about on here due to threads being shut down. I would rather we had a gradual but reliable reveal of what was shown through legit sources, such as articles, and then we can quote those sources as much as we like.

Also, we can look to those on the forum who are actually attending. Has anyone confirmed that they will be going?

Best way to prevent illegal videos would be to release legit ones, or better yet, stream the presentation.

That said, they did a pretty damn good job of containing last year's Doom Quakecon reveal. I was dying to see something, but didn't until the recent E3 presentation.

This is true. I just hope that they can manage to pull the same thing off this time round, and also that we don't have to wait too long to see the real deal.

I have read the future in frog entrails and it said this: it will be revealed that you can have a same six marriage and your same six spouse will be voiced by Mark Meer or Jennifer Hale.

It would have to show new footage if it's an hour long, right? If I recall correctly the E3 showing for Fallout 4 was about 30 minutes.

Not to rain on the parade, but wouldn't QuakeCon most likely have footage of the new Doom game?

I would think it would be the focus...

Already confirmed that new footage will be shown for Doom and Fallout 4. Doom will be live-streamed, but Fallout 4 is attendee only.
