Anyone got any ideas about Quake? Anybody going...going to uh... take a GOOOD look at the behind closed doors footage if there going... Like a REALLY good look... Like... Such a good look that like, even we can see it?

Anyways... I imagine some new stuff will trickle some things out. Something little, or something big?

It's hard to say. Seems like the Skyrim game play at QuakeCon was recorded by several people, saw a lot of tripods on the edges there. Sadly, the audio was totally sh*t because of all the hootin' and hollerin' by the largely inebriated crowd. Some of that video showed up on Youtube, so that it was constantly posted, blocked, reposted, blocked again etc...

Personally, I'd be happy with the IGN or GameSpot text report with a few key stills, and then seeing Bethesda's offical Video edit 2-3 weeks later....

I expect a mid game content video, unlike the early game we seen so far, possibly they might run a "quest" from start to finish.

I assume beth has no plans to reveal more gameplay mechanics before launch, so the demoer will avoid showing anything new.

Regarding QuakeCon, I think we will be getting quite a lot of new info, possibly including an accurate start date. After all, it will be difficult keeping the associated Pip-Boy menus 'hidden' during an hour long demo

Very intuitive, although if we dig deeper there could actually be another meaning.

If we take the numbers you gave individually, we have 7-2-6-1-5. If we turn these into letters of the alphabet, we then get g-b-f-a-e, which are all letters used in musical notation. If we then arrange these letters into chords, we end up with e-g (major), and a-b-f, or f-a-b (minor). Translating these chords into proper words, we end up with egg and fab.

Big apologies to the original poster. This is actually a very valid thread and I didn't mean to deviate the discussion in any way

So, back to QuakeCon. Given what we have seen so far, and the subsequent feedback (or lack thereof) from the devs, I think we may be in for something of an information overload. The reason I say this is due to the sheer volume of information already available in the trailer and the E3 demo. This is how most of the details we know of have been conveyed, rather than the devs simply reading from a list, and the game does actually look to be in final stages. I read a comment recently that suggested it may already be content locked, which I believe is more than possible at this stage.

Considering the QuakeCon demo is likely to be a little longer than the one shown at E3, it would be hard to imagine this not being the case. In keeping with the footage shown to date, I think Bethesda may well stick with a male protagonist for now. Saying that, it would be awesome to see the female protagonist in gameplay, as this will give us an opportunity to look for any noticeable differences (apart from the obvious ones, of course).

And so let's all hope that we get a ton of new information. The many articles that will be posted following the demo will make for very interesting reading, but the icing on the cake will be when we actually get to see the full demo posted up by the devs (I for one will not be responding to any comments related to 'non-legit' sources on any of my own or other people's threads)

canned videos, safest way to avoid bugs and generakly keep things under control what we get to see or not.

I think it's important for us all to be smart about this, and we can all learn from the experience of leaks posted after the Skyrim closed demo. As long as we are discussing official articles from recognised sites, or first-hand information from actual attendees, we should be fine. The last thing we all want is threads being shut down left, right and centre because of links to bootleg images or videos!

Exactly. I remember how angry Pete Hines was when like a week before Skyrim game out it was revealed you could play as a werewolf.

I suspect there will be enough "leaked" video, that whatever gets phone-cam'd gets an official post to youtube and general media.
