quality is the word!

Hi everyone :)

I just wanna say that I hope that Skyrim brings back the epic feeling I had, from start to finish, while
playing Morrowind. I don't want to start talking about the things that pissed me off in oblivion,
but please dont make the levelling system the same again, bring back Morrowinds totally random system,
where "levelling" actually mattered. Oh, and one more thing, pls no more fast travelling, bring back mages
guild transportation, boat travel and silt striders(or similar creature-travelling), this makes the world seem
much more bigger and way more immersive, then if you actually had a bigger world in size..

I don't want to worry too much, cause I love bethesda and how they develope games, I just feel that they
are headed into a wrong direction, too please a bigger audience.

I agree. But that is not all. The quality comes also from uniqueness. Morrowind was unique since it summerized lots of new elements. Oblivion did well too, but there was a lack of storytelling and some elements were just reused or interpreted. With Oblivion, Bethesda's copied things from other media like movies (LOTR). Basically that was ok for me but it affected the overall gameplay atmosphere.

Fast travel is returning.
Skyrim will have a leveling system similar to Fallout 3, not Morrowind.
Morrowind is my favorite TES game. However, it's been done, and it's time to move on.
Let Morrowind be Morrowind. Let Skyrim be Skyrim.

Yeah I liked how Oblivion kinda nailed the whole Tolkien-esque fantasy setting, I just hope Skyrim's landscape is something more original.

A thread that says Skyrim should be like MW and not like OB mmmmm let me think, no, I'm going for a cigarette, hopefully this thread will be locked, or something intelligent posted on it, when I get back.

Stop telling Bethesda to dumb down Skyrim and make it like Morrowind. Its better than Morrowind. Making it like Morrowind would make it a WORSE GAME. For that matter, making it like Oblivion would make it a worse game too.

I didn't say that, you might misunderstood. I stated that Skyrim should use less ideas from other things like movies (like on Oblivion) and create more own and unique ideas (like it was done on Morrowind).

Please either read carefully or spare your word.

Thank you

Enough with these "Skyrim-should-be-like-Morrowind"-threads.
I reckon Skyrim should be like Shadowkey! Anyone beg to differ?

Ehhh. I've got to agree. We do need some elements from Morrowind, IMO it did some things very right. Now would it make sense for silt striders to return, no.
I enjoyed more of Morrowind than Oblivion, and I wish they would take the good and leave the bad, but this doesn't seem to be so.
At least every TES game is unique from one another, even if that means losing things that were once great.

Well at least we have good memories, and hopefully Skyrim will be better than Oblivion.

I don't think Morrowind has an "epic feeling" thing going on. It's very subtle, and so is Oblivion most of the time. That's one of the reasons i love this series, the game's aren't all up in your face trying to be this epic amazing fantasy story.

Anyway, i hope this thread doesn't turn into a "Oblivion sux MW pwns" thread :)

Fast travel is such a tough issue. I'm glad it's back because sometimes I just want to play some quests when I don't really have the time to take in all the scenery (of course, I know I'm only taking away from my experience of the game, but sometimes I'm pressed for time and still want to play). But I also agree that a transit system or portal system is nice because I really have to traverse the world, seeing and taking everything in.

jebus im not talking about graphics, I couldn't care less about graphics, talking about gameplay and how the story was so engaging in morrowind

and for the love of god, im not saying that they need to make a morrowind clone, what Im saying is that they need to be as creative, when making skyrim.. give me an unique experience, not some HUGE boring landscape with realistic forests..

The word "boring" is subjective. Morrowind is Morrowind. Cyrodiil is Cyrodiil. As I respect, I loved Cyrodiil.

Em. There are at least two seperate threads for each of these wishes and you should contribute there if you really think these issues mean a lot. It's a bit silly to see a personal wishlist with only things that have already been discussed so much.

PS. No feelings were hurt in the making of this post... or at least I hope so ;)

I agree. It just ruins the "before-release" feeling. Skyrim should be unique not like Morrowind or Oblivion.

Skyrim to be more like Morrowind means people want that atmosphere back.

Oblivion isn't Morrowind 2,but it was supposed to be ELDER SCROLLS 4.

Bloodmoon wasn't Morrowind, but it had the feel.Get the idea?

People want an Elder Scrolls. There are tons of "Dark Rune 2 : Wrath of the Shadows" RPG's...

Forget Morrowind or Oblivion, time to get over it and look at Skyrim being hopefully different from both of them.
Yes, I loved both games but to be honest I`d rather have some new and orginal things instead of the old "Make it like Morrowind" mantra. Morrowind had some crap things as well as Oblivion to be honest.
It would be nice for Bethesda to move on and not stick with old tried recipes. New and exciting mechanics are always welcome.
