Here's a Rp idea, since things seem kinda slow. It's just an idea, suggestions welcome, if it's well received we can start it. So here it goes:

April 27

The NCR is a thriving community now, with well over 1,000,000 million people living in it's boundaries. It's most valuable city is Lancaster, a major trading town and research center. The research begins on antibodies and vaccines to cure common diseases. Project is making good progress
Population: 50, 000

April 30

Accident in research lab, virus released, contamination protocol activated. Scantiest believe it to be alright. Research continues.

Population: 50,000

May 10

Scientist find out there wrong, when the first victim of the virus is killed. They cover it up and calm the public about her mysterious death. They radio the NCR and they order a complete quarantine. All research is stopped and immediately re directed to the cure for this new virus.

Population: 49,999

May 15

NCR shuts down Lancaster's borders, heavy gates block anyone form entering or leaving, snipers are posted around the town, killing anyone who manages to get out. Inside the town is mass panic as the virus begins to claim more lives and the borders are shut. Ghouls remained unaffected by virus, becoming the source of much hatred.

Population: 49,499

May 30

Virus has become an epidemic, the town has degenerated into chaos. A cult forms, it appeals to many people as it blames the scientists and ghouls for the virus. Scientists have barricaded themselves in the research lab, three quarters of the staff has perished, but they continue to research a cure.

Population: 38,000

June 17

The cult called Followers of Rein begin a mass extermination of everyone in the town, believing people not of the cult are the cause of the virus. The scientists all are dead now, but they managed to save their research, it's almost complete, if only someone could get to them.

Population: 35,000

June 30

There is no hope. That's what most people believe now, fires rage, cults and gangs murder, the virus tortures people, there is no way out.

Population: 10, 000

How it will work:
Players will start out on April 27 or May 10(haven't decided) it will show their daily lives, doing whatever they do(Chef, Bartender, Mechanic, Plumber, Technician, etc.) and watch as the town slowly disintegrates into chaos. They will be brought to each other, at first just for survival, but as time goes on they will begin to rebel, wipe out the gangs and save Lancaster from utter destruction.

The Plague
(A Deadly Virus)
First off there are three types, you can only be infected with one, and two of them are fatal. One percent of the population is completely immune(not including ghouls).

Type 1: The most common and most deadly. There are virtually no warning signs, it takes 24 hours from the start of the infection for it to kill it's victim, extremely contagious, any bodily contact can transmute it. The moment of infection the person will start bleeding profusely, within four hours they enter a coma, and in 24 they die.

Type 2: The least common, but still deadly strain. Victim life span varies, but three months is average. It causes sores to open up all over the body, slowly eats away at the flesh, acute hemophilia, and eventually causes vital organs to fail.

Type 3: Rare, but more common than Type 2. It's not fatal, causes sore to open all over the body and acute hemophilia.

Factions
(Those crazy gangs and cults)

Followers of Rein: Easily the biggest cult, their leader is one Lenox Rein. They are well equipped with Flamethrowers, mini guns, grenade launchers, RPGs, and other automatic weaponry.

Zombie Slayers: A gang of extremely racist non-ghouls. Since ghouls can not be infected they believe their the source, their mission is the genocide of ghouls. Their leader is one Joseph Hector.

Corpse Walkers: Most ghouls belong to this gang, it's an anti-human gang determined to get revenge for the acts against their kind. The leader is Travis Napier.

The Protectors: They want to find a cure to the point where they kill those who stand in their way. This gang is often at war with the Followers of Rein, it is the second most popular gang. They won't care about civilians in a firefight, nor help them, but they won't actively kill them. Lead by Lennon Bruce.

That just leaves the rest of the people trying to survive.

Lancaster
(The quarantine zone explained)
City of Rein: This is a large portion of Lancaster, it holds the Follower of Rein.

The Hot Zone: The portion of the city that separates the Followers from the Protectors, battles are frequently held here, fires rage, most dangerous place to be in. Research Lab is located here.

Haven: Holds the Protectors, despite it's name, people will be killed on spot if they approach it.

Grovewalk: The largest zone of civilians, it is also the safest, though it is frequently attacked.

City of the Living: Holds the Zombie slayers, a ghoul might cross into it's border, but do not expect to be in there long.

The Dead Zone: The zone in between the Zombie Slayers and Corpse Walkers. Since Corpse Walkers don't like humans and Zombie Slayers don't like ghouls, this is a place for nobody.

City of the Dead: Home to the most ghouls and the Corpse Walkers. Humans not welcome.

*These zones are after June 30, and outlines the areas of the towns. A person could be anyone of these zones. Small pockets of civilization could exist in The Dead Zone, though it would be safer to live in Grovewalk.

Landmarks:
(Important Places)
Town Hall: The town hall where the governor, Eric Dax use to reside.

Town Square: The large area in the center of the town where events are held.

Research Lab: Where the cure is located, in The Hot Zone.

Why exactly would the ghouls be immune?

I dunno, the radiation in them bakes the virus, it was just to add conflict. I'll remove that if it bothers you and appreciate you asking questions.

Then that would be semi-natural immunity, people should know that (If I was immune to pink eye, I could still spread it). We should assume that in a crisis people don't think rationally. It doesn't really bother me, it was just one of those 'why?' things.

When one population is unaffected by a crisis the affected will see them with contempt. The ghouls can't carry it, people may know that, but it won't stop them from hating them.

Or stop them from continuing hating them, as the case my be for some. Was the accident prior to the death reported? If so, would some be able to put the accident, the death, and quarantine together? Also, what year does this take place?

Yes, some people may put it together. 2400 was the year I had intended.

Maybe you could incorporate some sort of Resistance movement against the NCR, filled with the ones who know. Also, 2400 is quite the date, how is the Wasteland? What about the Brotherhood? The Enclave? Cesar's Legion!?!?!

It will be hard enough to maintain it at this level, don't make it too complicated.

There was a quarantine on one of the planets you visit. All aliens are killed by the disease but humans and Vorcha are immune. The Vorcha are stupid so the aliens place the blame on the humans.

Woah, nice story mate, I love stories which involve quarantined cities, but Rps should be even more awesome. I'd love to join!
Just one question, are we all supposed to be in the same team? Or are we split up into the different gangs? I'd rather stick with where the majority of people are going so we are all involved and work as a team. But anyway this is a really good idea Yttrium, I hope you start this Rp up.

question, could you choose to be an NCR sniper that gets infected due to an air born strain?
or maybe the son/daughter of one of the scientists?
or maybe just some-randon-guy with a nuke who decides to blow up a town and just happens to nuke lancaster? XD just kidding.

@Ian Mc: I was going to have everyone on one team, I don't want any other factions join able, because that would complicate things way too much. Everyone will be a civilian, belonging to no faction except the citizens of Lancaster.

@Fallout_Fan_Boy: I'm sorry but you can't be either of those. NCR sniper who got infected would just be shot and then burned. I don't anyone to be the daughter/son of the scientist because I don't want anyone to know there's a cure.

I might start the sign up soon since so far everyone has said it's a pretty good idea.
