I'd vote for geographical sorting as well.

Yes, that is correct. I didn't have time to check the errors yesterday, but will try to this evening. It would be nice if you can just make 100% sure that you're using v18.

I had a similar problem, installing obse v19b3 "fixed" it

1.3 wouldn't work for me either. Rather than install an OBSE beta I dropped back to QLM 1.2 and DarNifiedUI Additions 2.3.2

Quest Log Manager 1.3.1 is now available

Only one change: 1.3 was compiled with OBSEv19b3. I didn't know it, but OBSEv19 evidently do something different even if no new 19 functionality was used, so that was what lead to the problem for a number of users. 1.3.1 is compiled with OBSE 18 and will therefore work as intended for players who haven't switched to the OBSE beta.

Try 1.3.1 now, and it should work :)

So it does. Cheers :) One query though. I still had to add:

setmenufloatvalue "map_background\map_contents_3_4_5\map_log_window\map_log_current_hidden\_enableQLM" 1023 1

to Quest Log Manager.ini to make it work. If this is how things are supposed to work could some mention be made in the readme or even on the nexus page? I'm aware of this now but others like me who actually read docs would benefit.

A while back I asked about support for MajorJims UI and you said...

Not directly. You can either choose the vanilla xml file and get a vanilla-looking map/quest menu, or you can open majorJim's map_menu.xml file in a text editor and copy/paste all changes from QLM's map_menu.xml file. All the changes are tagged with tnoQLM, so it's not too difficult. I may do it myself when I get the time though.

Just had another look and feel that I am bound to screw it up if I try and apply the changes myself.

Are you contemplating supporting MajorJims UI at some time in the future?

It worked for me, at least. Thanks for looking into my problem. :)

Hmm - doing http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1097705-relz-quest-log-manager/page__view__findpost__p__16086478 does not seem to make this compatible with Kyoma's Darn UI additions anymore.

Maybe something changed int he latest version?

Yes, something changed in the latest version, which will require the latest version of Kyoma's Darn UI additions too, dated 16 September. Do you have that version?

Hmm, I am getting an error in the console:
An Expression failed to evaluate to a valid result
File:Quest Log manager Offset 0X068A Command: Let
http://www.4shared.com/file/tPPRa6dA/Static_Log.html

But the mod Quest log manager seems to be working?

EDIT - Actually it seems to be some other problem. Now it is nGCD that is having problem with the LET command. Yep, something has gotten messed up with the string function :( The game seems totally wonky. END EDIT

Cheers!

Well this looks really interesting but I'm having a number of entries that are overlapping the one above them. It really looks like crap when they do. They clean up with a click of the 123/ABC toggle but when I go back after existing they've become jumbled again. I'd also like to be able to switch the numerical order. So instead of 123, I could have 321. That idea of a geographic sorting would be a good one too. A very good start though, this will be very helpful in keeping the quest log organized. The ideas you come up with never ceases to amaze, you have this knack of coming up with mods that we didn't even know we needed before.

PS: I'm using the BTMod version BTW.

Has this been compiled for obse 19b4 yet - I'm using that for some other mod (forget which) and was thinking that might be a cause.

Something I miss from EQ MMOG days is the ability to just wipe quest progress away.
Sometimes I am given a quest without wanting one. Even a quest confirmation for acceptance/denial would be nice if it is possible.

I have this too as you can see from my post above yours. It pertains to the string values if I am not mistaken, could be there is something wrong with the obse.save or maybe even obse itself; but most probably it is a saved array that has gotten messed up.

I was unlucky to get the LET error on nGCD, that made the game unplayable because it reset all the PC's attributes as it could not find the right ones. If that had not fixed itself I would have tried a clean save, now I just went back a few saves and now it error is back on Quest log manager.

Have you tried doing a clean save? What happens? Does the error move to an other plug-in using that command?

Cheers!

I use QLM with OBSE 19b4 without any issues... try restarting the game and see if the console error persists...or clean saving if that doesn't solve it.

I might add:
Maybe if you remove a quest mod it messes with the array.
I did a clean save and so far the error has not reoccurred!

Hey TNO

Do you know, which XML I need to edit to set a different font for the text on the buttons saying "ABC" and "Show Hidden/Show Current"? I has to be the map_menu.xml, but manipulating it did not do anything...

*Edit*

Wait, I think I found the solution.

*Edit*

Nah, I did not. Changing the font does not solve the problem. But I know what will: getting rid of the the "Show" text in "Show Hidden/Show Current", so it only says "Hidden/Show". Is that possible? Otherwise, with my new font the text will overlap the edges of the button.

I too am having issues with QLM and Kyoma's Additions. It simply isn't working. I see no changes. It's like QLM is not even installed when allowing the Additions map_menu.xml to "win". But if I change my install order, BAIN, and let the QLM map_menu.xml override the Additions version everything goes funky. I lose all functionality of my maps and markers.

I do have the latest Additions, v2.3.3 dated 16/9/2010

Unfortunately, I set it from the script, so the only way to alter it, is to change the script. You could open it in the OBSE CS and change lines 58, 174 and 181 of the script named QuestLog. But I see the point in moving it out to the xml, making it possible to change for non-English users as well...

When using the two together, you must let Kyoma's map_menu.xml "win". But you must also explicitely enable QLM in his map_menu.xml. This can be done by directly editing his map_menu.xml. Open it in a text editor, search for "<_enableQLM> 0 " and change the "0" to "1".

Alternatively, add this line to QLM's ini file:
setmenufloatvalue "map_background\map_contents_3_4_5\map_log_window\map_log_current_hidden\_enableQLM" 1023 1

Indeed that did the trick. I used your first suggestion of simply enabling via the map_menu.xml provided with Kyoma Additions.

Earlier I had searched and compared both QLMs and Kyoma's map_menu.xml files to compare them. At a glance I seen nothing wrong, they contained multiple lines with TNO this, TNO that, which the search registered. However I did not pay enough attention to check for a line to enable QLM. Maybe I should have looked harder. Although I don't think it would hurt to note in the QLM ReadMe to enable this setting when using Kyoma's Additions. I checked both mods documentation and neither mention it.

Everything's working perfect now. I use pretty much all your mods and they're top notch, as is the support. Customization is also unbelievably awesome. Thanks for everything you do TNO. :foodndrink:

There is an issue with new games for me. I will click to hide quests. They will go to hidden. I will then close the menu. When I re-open it, the quests are no longer hidden.

It gets fixed if I disable this mod, open the game, save, exit, reactivate the mod and then go back into the game.

Can you enable debug (set it to 2) in the ini. Then do the above, and then post the debug log here (use Conscribe to capture it). That would help me find the cause. :)
