[Help] Quest not fully starting or AI errors?

I've had some weird encounters. Purely vanilla ones, but what I randomly see for example is:




  • Quest: WERoad01 has a farmer couple. They're just standing next to the road. The escort package does not seem to be running.

  • Quest: WERoad02 has a noble and bodyguard. They're just standing in the road. The escort package does not seem to be running. Their heads track and look at me when initiating dialogue, but otherwise they are mostly statues. Small idle animations do play. The guard does engage in combat behavior and chases enemies. Once combat is gone the guard will return to the noble (or vice-versa) and then they will simply stand in place.

  • An elk/fox/deer is just standing there. I shoot arrows and hit. It doesn't react.

  • Was fighting the orc bandit boss in Cracked Tusk Keep. He was attacking, I was attacking. Then suddenly he just stood there utterly passive. Not a statue; just passive.

This and other encounters / quests have this occur on a totally random basis. Sometimes if I reload before the encounter they'll react normally. If I reload after the encounter is initiated they are stuck in this passive mode. If I attack then sometimes they react and attack back, but only if I wasn't already fighting them.


These are my mods/load order. http://pastebin.com/5WqEkYFB Any idea which ones I should investigate? Based on the behavior I'm guessing the NPC's AI just shut-off or failed to start.



Now, I'm not saying that it is ALWAYS this way. For example, I have a save outside Moss Mother Caverns. If I just run from it to main road the game's Story Manager will spawn the wilderness encounter (assassin, WERoad02, or Mai'q), but if there is a target locatio to head to then the encounter does not always move towards it.



I can sit there and reload the save over and over again in order to spawn different encounters and the results sometimes result in the NPC moving correctly, but majority of the time it is bugged.



I've tried playing with the bashed patch to increase Max Actors. No luck.

Because it works sometimes when reloading the save I do not think it is a problem with any animation mods.
