I've played my main character for over 200 hours. He was level 30 before he even reached Vegas. I think he is on The House Always Wins 4 (BoS quest). Started with NCR, but grown to dislike their politics. I've found 178 listed places and many unlisted ones. I'm all about finding everything on the map. I know there are more for me to find. I found all the snowglobes. Working on all the weapons, but won't be able to get all as my Lockpick isn't high enough. Maybe the DLC will allow me to fix that if it ever comes to the PS3. I don't care about leveling. For me it is the exploration and discovery. What I would like is a way to gain skill points by using the skill; like Oblivion. I'd prefer a combination of Fallout and Oblivion for skills. Less skills per level, but gaining skill points by using the skill.

Actually hitting level 30 is a good thing and I did it with the Chet glitch. Basically you don't need to kill every enemy out there just the ones that get in your way or ones that have good loot.

I'm roleplaying my current character from the beginnning of the game as a Level 30 character and its a lot of fun.

I wish that we didn't get XP for companion kills. I like levelling up and achievement chasing...but I do wish that I could slow down my levelling a bit. I also don't like it when I have more caps than I know what to do with...scrounging and scavving is a great deal of the fun for me.

I like this one too.

And Ghoul hunting.

I have yet to do Unarmed Deathclaw hunting.

I sometimes can get caught up in chasing levels, at least in some games, but this one not so much, because I like to stay low level. I even use a mod to keep myself low level because it keeps things a bit more challenging. Gear, item collecting, various weird little amusemants & quest/killing goals are what motivate me. Unfortunately the actual MQ line doesn't apparently motivate me, so after finishing the game twice I've never been able to reach/do the end-game again, even tho I never come close to the level cap. But I do most of the rest of game over and over. :D

Since, fortunately, this is not a game about Character Levels, like some MMO's, it does not matter what level I am at when I am playing, or what level I get to when I play.

I do miss the music when discovering a new place. Not sure if that goes away in this game, but it did in Fallout 3.

However what keeps me motivated is the game, the quests and finding places or NPCs that I have not found yet.

Mods extend the life of games like these for me, long past the point where I might otherwise have stopped. I don't even use that many mods...but between the few I do use + what I like about the game itself etc. it's just enough to keep me going in some fashion or another. :D

Haven't liked/played a game this much in years & was afraid I'd "outgrown"/tired of gaming. It's nice to find out that's not entirely true.

Finished all the challenges? I mean ALL?
Got one of virtually every item? Unique items?
Got all the extra schematics (the ones that work)?
Have all the companions?
Completed every quest?
Modded every weapon?
Laid waste to your enemies on a grand scale?
Found all locations? Unmarked locations?
All the snowglobes?
All the achievements/trophies?

Seriously, there's a ton to do.

See, now you have an oppurtunity to Roll a New Character. This time, don't make it balance, but give it 8, 9 or 10 in one or two SPECIALs, and 2 or 3 in one or two of the SPECIALs and see how the game plays that way. That is when it becomes a real challenging and fun game to have a character that excels in a couple of things and svcks in a couple of things. You will approach quests in an entirely different manner.

How on earth do people even manage this? I had no choice but to enter the Strip, as it has a handful of marked quests available of which I'm attempting now. I'm around 72h on my first play, and I'm only Level 24. 102 locations discovered. I have 44 quests completed.

I'm honestly running out of ideas for 'The Boss' achievement. I can't do many quests due to confliction, I need to keep this save good/neutral with every faction to simply reload and branch off with another questline. I still have yet to visit the Boomers or the BoS, and I know they have quests available also. But I don't want to travel there yet, as I would like to be Level 30 before I advance in the main questline.

I have just one question. Do unmarked side-quests give you decent experience to chase? I don't think they count toward the quest challenge. If so, I'll start working on them. According to the Wiki, there are a lot of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You either not playing right, or playing the wrong game.

Ha ha ha. You mean I've been playing the game wrong this whole time because I like the feeling of leveling my character and gaining new perks? Please, enlighten me on the correct way to play this game so I never make such a mistake again. I await in anticipation.

I like to character build, that's probably my favorite part of the game. Though there's always more stuff to do in games in the fallout series, I'd rather just start a new character to do stuff I haven't done. Crazy isn't it?

I seem to remember them giving a good bit of exp, but I've been 30 on all my characters for a while. Go do the boomers quests, you won't alienate any of the other factions by doing them. There are some quests in Westside and Freeside you can do without upsetting any major factions, too.

I quest for money, not XP, I find that most questgivers can be extorted for everything they have, if you have a high Barter, like me.
