A Question About BSA files

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:23 pm

Hi All,

Just a question on BSA files. We all know about the soft and hard caps for active plugins and plugins/bsa file counts in Oblivion, and as I'm very close to the limits on both I was wondering would unzipping the BSA files into the appropriate directories and removing them from my data directory (and in theory from the soft cap file count) work, or are the esp/esm files from mods that use BSA files tied to having the BSA files existing in the data directory?

Cheers,

You are correct in your assumption.
If you "unzip" a bsa into the correct folders, you do not need that bsa in your data directory,
In essence, a bsa IS a \Data directory.
