Weapons and attachments. No armor all outfits are cosmetic only.

I don't think you do. In the Ready and Able video, the guy was Level 20 and capped at 300,000 XP which is a very coincidental number, considering all the 0's. That could possibly be after he spent some of his XP on clothes, I don't know if It reduces your total XP when you buy stuff though. Also every Character on that video had the same amount of XP.
