Question about changing multiple variables

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:36 pm

I want to know if there is a way or a tool that will allow me to change the same variable in multiple entries. As an example, I would like to change the damage that all 10mm pistols do, and would like to select all the ones I want to change at once and change just the damage variable.

Is this possible?

Please ask if I need to clarify.

I couldn't say how to do this dynamically in game, but if it's something as straightforward as your example like just upping the damage, I would just edit the damage value of the base 10mm pistols you want to change in the geck. Every offspring of that gun will reflect those changes.

I am referring to multiple entries in the GECK, not ingame.

For Instance, I am working in the GECK with FOOK2 weapons, and wish to change the damage variable of the Beretta 92F, the vanilla 10mm pistol, the chinese pistol, and the Glock 18C, all at the same time, so that I dont have to go through and change each variable individually, as it would save time to do all of them simultaneously.

I am trying to change more than just those 4, and more than just the damage variable, but the example I presented should illustrate what I am trying to accomplish.

Ok, I see what you mean. I don't think you can edit stats across multiple unique forms like that as each form has it's own unique starting and ending stats, and each individual change gets saved to that unique form only.

That is exactly what I was afraid of. I am heavily modifiying the stats of every firearm, to make the damage based on the cartridge used, and barrel length, rather than some arbitrary difference in the weapons. It will allow me to use whatever weapon from a caliber that I want, without worrying about if each shot is as effective as another. Basically, a 9mm bullet does the same amount of damage from similar pistols. Its the same ammo and essentially the same length barrel, so the damage should be the same. I like the chinese pistol, but it does crap for damage. With my tweaks, it will be a viable option for a 9mm weapon, even if it isnt as durable a weapon.

I have to commend you on that. I always thought that most of the pistols in the vanilla game were worthless. The chinese pistol is totally junk and uses 10mm ammo, but you start with several standard 10mm pistols which are the best that use 10mm ammo, besides the 10mm SMG. The .32 pistol is also a joke, that uses valuable ammo(at lesat in the early game) that you can use for the hunting rifle. I do like the weapons of FOOK2 quite a bit and has added a huge amount of playability for me weapon-wise(although I really wish I could get the WMK compatibility patch to work) but I think that they could use a wider range and greater balance.
