Question about cobl

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 6:32 am

I got cobl and it stuck two extra things in my inventory, +guidebook and +options. Very nifty, I liked setting the gameplay I wanted to have right in-game. However now that I have done this I would like these things to stop cluttering up my inventory. I want to put them in a safe container but they're "quest items" and won't go! Is there any way to get rid of them?

Also, same question for OOO's "use torch" item. It usually doesn't take me long to find a better source of light than a torch!!

Three items, two of which are menu-accessing features, they are hardly clutter. You will have to put up with the menu access. There is a DLT remover plugin for OOO FULL, but I do not know whether or not it removes the hotkey. You are stuck having access to COBL's menus. Why in the world would you not want to have access to them?

Because:

1. They ARE clutter, even 2-3 items, and I'll still have access to them if I need them if I just shove them in a safebox.
2. The +items are on the very TOP of the misc inventory menu which makes them even more in the way. is there some way to at least rename them to start with "z" so they're on the bottom?
3. I use "combat fumbling" mod so anything that makes my inventory less sleek and simple is going to disadvantage me in combat. Although come to think of it, there's nothing in the misc menu I normally use during combat, so that's not too bad..

Anyway, thanks for the answer, just wanted to see if there was an easy solution I was missing

You can remove OOO's Torch Hot Key via the Cobl options if using OOO 1.32-Cobl.esp. There is a manual way to do it as well, but I never remember how to do it. I'll check in the OOO thread as showler posted it a while ago.

EDIT: Here

There's a way to do it without COBL as well, Cobl simply automates the manual process.

Go in your inventory, drop the torch hotkey item. Immediately after exiting your inventory, enter the console and type "stopquest addtorchkey" and "stopquest addtorchkeyagain". That will do it.

Protip: If you don't remove the torch hotkey item, and you need a cheap way to mark a path or location temporarily, you can drop a ridiculous number of torch hotkeys and always get another. They appear in the world as burning torches, but don't give off much light at all.

The DLT remover does get rid of the hotkey torch. If you are set on getting rid of the Cobl options there are mods that let you move quest items (actually I think one is included in Cobl), that may let you move it.

set cobMenuQ.bHideoptions 1

^Type that into the console, if you want the option items again just go to the Temple of the One and they will be added to your inventory. They are removed again once you leave.
