Question about Courier Six.

Hello,

I've had this question running in my head for a little while now.

How old is Courier Six in Fallout: New Vegas?

I've been digging through all possible information, but I haven't been able to find anywhere where Six's age is stated. I know that if you have the Lady Killer Perk you can talk to the Lonesome Drifter where The Courier mentions something about asking if the Lonesone Drifter is seventeen years old. I'm not sure if that Lady Killer Perk part is canon or not. It's suggested by Ulysses and the occasional line of throwaway dialogue that The Courier has been all over the Core Region, including visits to New Reno and Utah and travels all along Fallout 2's caravan routes. So Six must have a lot of experience. I know people "grow" up fast in the Wasteland, but I cannot see someone in their late teens running all over the caravan routes, delivering packages, fighting mutants, surviving, etc.

The Vault Dweller is twenty in Fallout 1.

The Chosen One is twenty in Fallout 2.

The Lone Wanderer is nineteen in Fallout 3.

Is there no canon age for The Courier Six?

As old as you want. You can also change your age in the first two games.

It's basically assumed he must be in his early or mid-30's. We can't pinpoint an exact age, but dialog suggests he's AT LEAST a tad older than the standard 18 years old trope, so I can't image him being younger than his later 20's. If the dialog choice with the Lonesome Drifter is taken as evidence, then you would assume that worst case scenario, the Courier knocked someone up at age 13 or 14, putting him at -at least- 31. Then given that obviously the game's target demographic is young males (18-24) you'd assume they'd automatically aim low, thus putting the Courier in his early 30's.

This would also explain why his dialog with certain characters can lead to them calling him "youngster" or young in general. He's young, yes, just not as young as the others. Early 30's also places him right up there with Arcade and Cass, age-wise.

I know that, but their ages have been confirmed twenty. I know the Chosen One was confirmed to be twenty. Not exactly sure about the Vault Dweller.

Hmm, this makes me rethink my whole story plan I had. I thought of making Courier Six meet the Lone Wanderer in Fallout 3 - 4 years before New Vegas - and she is twenty-three. That'd make her twenty-seven in Fallout: New Vegas. I thought that was decent, but maybe it's a little too young. Too bad they never gave Courier Six an exact age.

Anyway, thanks for the explanation!
