Question about damage and weather it stacks

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 12:52 am

Ok. For example i have a Glass Bow of Lightning which i found. I improved it to Flawless rating.

The damage info on the Bow is as follows: Damage:79, Target takes 31 points of shock damage and half as much Magicka damage.

Now the question: Is the Shock and Magicka damage in addition to the stated 79 damage or part of it?

As in would the total Health Damage be 110 points (79+31)+Arrow Damage+15.5 (rounded up or down) damage to Magicka?

Or would it be 48 Physical Damage+31 Shock Damage+Arrow Damage to Health+15.5 (rounded up or dpwn) Magicka Damage?

I would think it was the latter but i've came across conflicting information.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

Thanks, but are you sure? Its just that i also have another bow, Glass improved to Flawless and i Enchanted it with a Paralysis Enchantment which paralyzes the target for 2 seconds.

The damage on that one is listed as being 80+2 sec paralysis.

When i equip the first Bow and compare it to the other one, with the paralysis enchantment, both show a Damage rating of 92 down next to the carry weight.

If the damage is in addition to, should'nt the first bow show a damage rating of 110, excluding the Magicka Damage?

It may be me just not understanding it properly, would'nt be the first time, but i don't see how it could be in addition to.

Unless... does it show additional damage? In this case the Shock Damage/Magicka Damage, in the weapon inventory screen? Or is it only the Base Damage+Arrow Damage thats shown? In that case mine would be showing 92 Damage as i have Orcish Arrows equipped, so it would be Base Damage of 80+12 for Orcish Arrows+Shock damage of 31 which, along with the 15.5 (rounded up or down) Magicka Damage is not shown.

Have i got that right?

Enchantment damage is in addition to physical damage. It is unaffected by any perks that increase physical damage, and it does not appear anywhere in the inventory except for on the item itself.
