Question about encumbrance and vampirism

Post » Sun Sep 06, 2015 5:43 pm

Hello! i am new to Oblivion and till now i've been searching for solutions in uesp and other pages but in this case i haven't found an explanation. My character till recently had a max carrying weight of 215 but after a few quests for DB and shivering isles i saw that it dropped to 170?? i haven't been to jail if this is a reason only paying my bounty, so i am not sure what could cause this but it is pretty annoying.. Another thing that i am curious about is that when i slept and woke up a message popped out saying that i became a vampire. Since i want to avoid the lenghty quest of curing myself as i guess it was too late to pray or drink a potion i decided to avoid levelling up and went back to a save just before attempting to sleep..so i continued with my quests. But then once i decided to sleep on Vicente's bed from the DB i woke up and the message didn't pop up, neither my appearance changed. Is it normal? Like all of a sudden sleeping wont activate the disease on you anymore as you progress? oh and this is on X-box :/

Hello! I'm sorry to give you perhaps bad news.

This is the link to the vampire section in the wiki:

http://uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Vampirism

It sounds like you had a disease that sapped your strength. If you click the spell icon on your player menu, to the right on the next screen is an icon that gives you a menu of all active spells your character has, to include diseases. It's always a good idea to check this after any combat. If you do this now, you can see if your character still has vampirism. Good luck!
