Question about FO3 3GB enabler

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:38 am

I start FO3 not by the FO3.exe but by fose_loader.

The instructions for FO3 3GB loader (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6510) state:

a) make a back up copy of 'Fallout 3.exe'.
B) put Fallout3.exe in the '3GB enabler' folder
c) double click 'START.BAT'

Step B) is what I'm confused about. I don't know whether to put Fallout3.exe or fose_loader into the 3G enabler folder. It seems that it should be fose_loader b/c that is what I'm using to load FO3 with.

Thanks of course to the mod creator this application. Some constructive advice however would be for that person to address this question is the install notes on the Nexus page, as I am sure there are others using fose_loader who have wondered about this.

Thanks again folks for your help.

You still have to use Fallout3.exe. The fose loader just loads fose and then starts fallout3.exe

Well I see you have Window 7 64 bit so you shouldn't have a problem, but for anyone reading this and getting the bright idea of using that application with XP, don't. I tried it and had nothing but problems with that OS. I was even getting complete system shut downs when using it. That enabler should really only be used if you're running a 64bit OS.
