Question about Fose & Running FO3

Post » Wed Nov 30, 2011 3:10 am

I'm asking because I just found out I've been running FO3 without it's disc in my DvD Drive today. When I went to take it out to put in another disc has anyone else been able to play FO3 without replacing the Exe with a no cd one? While using FOSE?

I use the FOMM to play the game. No disk required. FOSE works through FOMM like it works through Fallout3.exe

The disc detection is built into FalloutLauncher.exe, so if you run Fallout 3 via Fallout3.exe the disc check will be skipped and you can run it without the DVD in the drive. fose_loader.exe and FOMM both run Fallout 3 via Fallout3.exe, so if you're using FOSE you won't need the DVD in the drive.

Oh cool thanks for letting me know Pistolero & Cipscis wasn't sure if it was FOSE or something else.

Heh... I forgot that FalloutLancher.exe checked the CD, it has been so long.

(The CD check wouldn't even bother me, if only the load list capability of FaulloutLauncher wasn't so terrible)
