Question about hybrid races?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:34 pm

Hello, well i was just wondering, what would a hybrid between a Altmer & Nord look like lore wise? I dont think i ever seen anything about them or any other mixed races. Also how would a Dunmer/Nord look?

Depends on the mother. If the mom was a nord it'd look like a nord. If the mom was an altmer it'd look like an altmer. The Grey Prince is an example of this.

Altmer + Nord + generations upon generations of interbreeding = Bretons.

Septim the TigerTiber.

That makes me think. Tiber Septim was a Dragonborn. Tiber Septim liked tigers, The Ka'Po'Tun are tigers who want to be dragons. The line "Tiber Tiber, riding wright" in the Descent of Nu-Mannoid thread is a homage to the first lines of one of William Blake's poems, "Tyger Tyger, burning bright". Tosh Raka is but the eastern mirror of the New Man, god emperors with the hearts of tigers but the powers of Dragons. Also in chinese mythology if I remember correctly the Tiger and the Dragon were counterparts or something.

No, you have to read through pages upon pages of metaphorical cryptobabble that is itself far ,more snooty and obscure than the actual sources would have been. Dude, that's just how we roll down here.

Hmm, this may be the best way to explain it in layman's terms.

It's akin to an actor acting out his/her role so role, the character they play as become the actor, in addition to the actor becoming the character. The character and the actor seem so alike, no one can tell the difference between the two. Tiber Septim did this in relation to Shezarr and became Talos.

The actor becomes what he or she is acting as. For example: the Champion of Cyrodiil became Sheogorath, Sheogorath became him.

It's not as complicated as TengenToppa's http://www.imperial-library.info/content/forum-archives-michael-kirkbride would make you believe, I assure you.

Everywhere I go, I'm too subtle.

I know what Mantling is. I've been around this lore longer than my join-date. I was simply keeping with the ironic spirit of this thread.

I suppose it's rather my fault, for calling this my serious face. In truth, it is my more-serious-than-some-but-less-serious-than-my-most-serious-face.

No, you mantled SeriousFace. Which means you are he, and he is you. Which still means we don't have to explain mantling. Also, I feel that "more-serious-than-some-but-less-serious-than-my-most-serious-face" should be my next Skyrim character's name.
