Post » Fri Dec 03, 2010 12:27 am

For example are dremora created by dagon and are Ogrim created by macalath?

In the case of lesser Daedra, I would say no. Dremora, at least, were not always under Dagon's command. I believe lesser Daedra choose who they serve to come back from the waters of Oblivion faster, but they are not created by those they serve.

Who made them? Well, the constant interplay between Anu and Padomay that resulted in the gray maybe. Everything came as a result of that.

What caused the Big Bang?

What created what caused the Big Bang? :P

I would guess that the interplay between Anu and Padomay is what created all Daedra and all Aedra, even the lesser ones.

Who made Anu and Padomay?

The Godhead who went schizophrenic and split into Anu and Padomay, then further fragmented. Everyone is nothing more than a shattered fragment of a mad dreamer unable to wake up.

I've read something that mentioned this before, but there is very little that I found which mentions this Godhead. Any books, or is it in ingame dialogue?

Who created the Godhead? Is it the only creature of its kind, or is it a dreamer in a world full of people just like it, therefore making the entire Elder Scrolls universe some normal person's dream? Where is this going?

It's just an idea, like a religion in real life may belief a Godhead blew himself up to cause the Big Bang.Real-life may be someone's dream for all we know.*shrug*

I do like the idea that the endeavor when succesful is like creating a split personality for the dreamer. The whole of the ES universe probably takes place in a mental institution somewhere.

It doesn't matter, and thus I must object to your questioning, for being Beyond the scope of reality. (In case you don't get it, Beyond the scope is an objection from mock trial competitions, used when someone's question or testimony would involve material outside the rulebook, affidavits, and supplemental materials supplied for the particular competition)

That's only one perspective. Of course, once you get to such a scale as talking about all of existence and nonexistence, most perspectives simply fall away/the minutiae don't make any difference.

While we do have lore on this, we don't have much from the Daedra's perspective that I know of. Which I think would be very valuable lore-wise.

Well, when a mommy Daedra loves a daddy Daedra very much....

I would probably agree with Anu and Padomay.

This may sound stupid to some, but - do daedra mate?I mean things like Scamps,Daedroths 'n' Clannfear, but I guess it could be applied to all Daedra.

It is likely they can have six, but not for the purpose of reproduction. The daedra, when they die, just need to get out of the waters of Oblivion, which is why, as seti18 pointed out, they hang with the princes in order to make the process of coming back out much faster so they don't lose their sanity. For how bad the waters of Oblivion are, imagine being deprived of all your senses, save for a constant and maddening chill that never goes away, and you are aware the whole time.

If you played the SI main quest, you get this tidbit from the Saints/Seducers.

EDIT: http://www.imperial-library.info/content/oblivion-spirit-daedra is a letter or message written by a Dremora, and it notes a bunch of your questions.

So Hellmouth Clannfear runts were always like that and continue to be in an immature form?

They probably grow up to be bigger, badder, and meaner till they die and are reborn again. Now how much weaker they became when dead, I'm just going to assume it depends on how quickly they're taken out of the waters (prince intervention) or how long it takes them to get out (by finding a waypoint a prince made).

Just because he threatens to [censored] your corpse, doesn't mean he's going to make a baby with you. As I said before, six to daedra is likely for pleasure or dominance, not reproduction. Though...what happened with Vivec is a weird case...
