As a warrior/thief (this time around) i will very likely NOT use any magic whatsoever! I mean it looks very nice 'n all (ooow sparkly lights) but it just isn't for me. I'd like to focus on food stufs as well as potions to keep my health up and heal that way contrary to what i did in previous Elder Scroll games.

My question: will the use of an arcane item (say a ring of fire, i know cheesy description) or a staff still give me points in destruction or any other school of magic should i deceide to use it?

To some this may not be that much of a problem or big deal but i seriously want to try and remain a somewhat pure warrior with some thieving skills at some point so no magic at all! Not sure if we even have this kind of information out there just yet but i am really interested to hear what "you" have to say on said subject, perhaps examples from previous games on how this was or should be handled?

im pretty sure it won't affect you magic skills. Not to worry

However, you will notice that fairly quick, if you destruction skills suddenly goes up by striking ur enemy.
