Question about medic ability 5

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 7:48 am

Dear everyone!

I have a probably simple and embarrassing question. When am I to know when to give away a pip to another player?

I would want to do it mostly to a strong class with 0 pips left. How do I determine if a player has 0 pips left?

I did search but i couldn't find...

Thanks in advance!

Its a fairly useless ability seeing as the pips are never more needed by another class then the medic which is actually able to hand it out.

Transfer supplies should've never been a medic skill, not completly sure what they were thinking with this one.

Which leads me to your question, don't hand it out at all and dont worry about it, those pips are always more urgently needed as a medic.

Just give it to players who are the most important in the situation, or dont give it.

While a Medic is super useful, in a tight spot you're probably better off having a soldier with all his grenades than a medic who has to wait until everyone's dead to be useful.
You dont have to do it while you are full, heal someone first if you want to feel like a good Medic.

I'm not a medic and dont intend to ever be, but there are definitely times as a Soldier/Operative that I've wished I had more Supplies BEFORE I died rather than being able to be revived afterwards.

I don't agree with this at all, medic's supplies are more precious than anyone elses except in very few situations. Soldiers can scavenge for pips, operatives don't use pips very often and rarely find themselves with no pips and a bunch of cooldowns to use. The only time a medic should ever consider giving out supplies is after a full stop of a charge on defense, give some supplies to the engineer so he can get weapon buffs, kevlar, and defensive explosives placed for the next attack.

Medics pips are the most crucial, your pips recharge over time unless you are dead. If you are dead you are useless, and NO the medic is not only usefull when people are dead. A good medic will buff people's health when under fire by buffing their HP when they get shot at and go under 50% which will guarantee them the victory in the firefight and not break the line with a downed soldier.

than a medic who has to wait until everyone's dead to be useful.

First of all, i don't know why everyone seems to think that medics are only useful for revives, when they can give you three different buffs, transfer supplies to you, and oh I don't know, HEAL YOU. Not all medics wait until your dead to help you, I for one like keeping you alive more than reviving you when your down, It just feels like I am doing my job. Sorry, I just had to get that out.

Now, for the OP's question. I use Transfer Supplies as one of my three abilities, and I think it's a pretty good ability. I use it when I have a good amount of pips and no one needs immediate medical attention at the moment. And I give it to either a soldier or engineer. (because I know that operatives don't really need it). Or I'll give it to someone in return for a weapon buff or ammo. Also, I will give it to another medic who is low on supplies when I have a good amount. It gives you a nice chunk of XP, and helps others out. It just takes getting used to use it routinely, like other buffs and abilities. And to answer your other question, you can't tell when they have exactly zero pips, but it won't let you give it to anyone who is not low on pips, so anyone you ARE able to give it to, could use it.

Useless ability.

When to give it? When a Soldier/Engy needs to prepare for an incoming attack.

That skill point can be invested elsewhere...

People who think medics should only use theyr pips for revive, are the same medics that get theyr entire team killed by not healing/buffing them :/

When I play my medic I Obviously get more score from reviving (which is completly idiotic), but I still choose healing/buffing someone over waiting until they die and then reviving them.

I've never run into a situation where It wouldve served the team better to give my supplies to a engineer or soldier, as someone who plays both those classes I know that they are both capable of maintaining the pips they need for the essentials without medics showering them with supplies.

Anyways, if someone manages to find value in it, I guees I am glad.. Just saying I've found no value in it what so ever.
