Question About Pre-order Bonuses

Post » Sat Jun 26, 2010 9:26 pm

I apologize 1,000 times over but I didn't see this answered anywhere I looked. I was curious if there's any news on the pre-order bonuses being obtainable by strictly pre-order or if they were considering releasing it as DLC. I know there are a lot of games that do that so I figured I'd ask, because I'd like to get my hands on the other pre-order items. Again, sorry if this is answer already.

Heyo, Sonic!

My guess would be that they really are exclusive to the ones who pre-ordered from said store, meaning they probably wont be up for DLC or anything in the like in the future

But since the SpecOps and the Psycho pack offers actual guns they might do this.. Since it's a wee bit unfair to give some players something with their own actual stats becuase they pre-ordered from a store the others did not, but then again.. We don't know if the guns are actual new unique guns or a new model for some already existing gun

Well.. I wouldn't count on it, so grab the pack you want now or just get BRINK where it is the cheapest for you :P

Yeah I would've liked to get some of the others but I settled for the Doom Pack since there's a Gamestop right down the road xD. Thanks for the input though :D.

From what I've heard, the developers have no intention of making pre-order exclusives available to everyone.

At least, that's the plan for now - money does have a way of changing minds.

Since they merged the Spec Ops and the DOOM pack into one, I guess you get two, eh? :P

Then if you're lucky you might get your hands on some of the other codes, but I have no idea how you would do that..

All in all.. You're welcome :P

Yeah I'm not happy about that, I prefer fair systems to be in place when doing this sort of thing.

'All friends/family of SD, Bethdesa, ID, etc, you get all pre-order packages when you buy the game!'
An extreme example of what's going on with the Doom pack, and it's retailer.

What? I just checked Gamestop.com and it only shows the DOOM pack. Where'd you hear this?

I prefer not having these mutliple unique pre-order offers at all.. Honestly :/

''I usually buy from this retailer, but hot mama that internet pre-order pack looks better, maybe I.. No, I can't.. Oh.. Aaah.. That one is.. [censored] *signing out - BOOM Headshot*''

But oh well, business is business, and according to some game.. I think it's Army of Two, business is good

It's called the Special Edition, and all the retailers who offered the DOOM-pack or the SpecOps-pack got this version instead, atleast that's how I got the hang of it, I might be wrong though.. Some may not, or maybe they just haven't updated yet

This is probably to get rid of excessive SpecOps and/or DOOM codes, since one of them maybe didn't sell so well like the others

I know it says ''Special Edition'', but the one I pre-ordered from removed the normal BRINK copies from their website and replaced them with the Special Edition, so if the stores got both, there is something wrong over there, they even go for the same retail price!

Kinda bummed when I first pre-ordered at the place for the Psycho pack, only to have it turned into the SpecOps pack, but then this came out and.. Eh, can't complain, I get my second-choice pack and another one for the price of one :P

*The only real ''limited edition'' is over in Australia for what I know, a steel-casing version of BRINK

*EDIT:

That'd be neat if my Walmart.com pre-order came with a DOOM code as well, but I won't hold my breath. Especially when both Gamestop.com and Walmart.com don't mention anything like that. Maybe GAME is just special.

I doubt it, because I was under the impression that SpecOps and DOOM were the two most popular. If it was due to a surplus of codes, it would be the Fallout code before anything.

Yeah.. Maybe the Psycho should join up with the Fallout? :P

But all in all.. I think the SpecOps or the DOOM one was not interesting enough, from what I understood some even liked the DOOM one more than the SpecOps pack, why else would they slap in two codes?

All pre orders are for all consoles.

The only half-exception is Spec Ops, since Steam is PC only, and Walmart generally doesn't know the release date was moved up a week.

This question is asked twice a day and if it was a subject of change you would find news about it on this forum right away, trust me.
