Question about PvP boosted stats.

Post » Thu Mar 20, 2014 12:48 am

I'm trying to figure this aspect by myself with researches on the web. The only thing I was able to reach was this:

"Everyone gets boosted up to the max level," explains Firor. "But you don't get abilities you haven't earned yet – just the hit points and stuff."

What I want to know is if I get to lvl 50 and go to Cyrodiil, my only advantages are my abilities ?

Or my gears enter in the game ? Will my Armor/Spell resistance points and Health/Stamina/Magicka points be the same as a Lvl 10 ?

Thanks for the answers.

Sorry for my english it's not my first language.

Anyone less than 50 *autolevels* to lvl 50 stats. It's not as good as being a true level 50.

Once you are level 50 there is no auto-levelling anymore, you keep all your stats as they are.

all your stats will be boosted, but they will be lower than what a real lvl 50 has...also you will not have access to all the active and passive skills, since it takes time and skill points to unlock them

you are not completly useless, but once the general populance hits VR10, you will have a hard time in cyrodiil as a low-level player :prod:

I'm not so sure. There will always be low level characters for one. But with ESO it is all about the builds. I can see well built low level players taking on poorly built 50's quite easy. But yeah, if you come up against a good high level player as a low level player you will get owned, Exactly how it should be. One thing I think is sure it's gonna be a whole lot of fun! Whatever level you are.

Ok thanks for the answers

I can't figure something then:

If I have end-game gears like a badass armor will I have better armor points than someone with only like an Iron or Steel armor ?

If my armor got better boosts like +some in my stats, will I be better in stats than a Lvl 10 ?
All the points I put in Magicka Health and Stamina until lvl 50 will be non-sense since a lvl 10 Got the same as me?

Trying to figure all this before the game launches so I'll be fixed on these questions...

once you get to 50 your gear matters

below 50 everyone has the same stats

so if you have endgame gear(which must be 50+) yes then it matters

the points you put in health, stamina, magicka will be useless(for pvp) until you hit 50

after 50 every little thing matters

I think this answers a lot of my questions, even if I have even more to learn.

I don't wanna be beaten by a lvl 10, what would be the point of reaching lvl 50 then ? You guys know now why I'm asking these questions lol :D

Well you will have an advantage but skill still counts, you can still have your @ss handled to you by a level 10, it's just much less likely :)

So for exemple I'm lvl 35 with a stronger armor and weapons than a Lvl 10 with weaker gears but it does not matter ? My armor points would be the same ? Or just the stats ?

yeah i believe you have 700 armor until you hit 50

i didnt play to level 35+, so i cannot tell you with 100% certainty, that if you manage to get more than 700 armor at level 35 it wont matter, but from level 50 people from the PTS talking thats what it sounds like to me

i know i upgraded some armor, added some enchants and spent points when leveling up, etc which made no difference at all

im not quite sure why they made it like this, i personally find it a bit weird that my light armor mage has the same 700 in armor as a heavy armored tank does, i guess we will just have to get to 50 so it all matters

food buffs do change stats so make sure to use those

edit: i do know that a level 50, will be considerably stronger than a level 49, because of this

I also found that the Heavy Armor passive that increases your armor by % does actually work in Cyrodiil.

well thats nice to know

i had heard passives didnt work either, but it was speculated that is was a bug

seems like they fixed that then

edit: did you put a skill point in it while actually in cyrodill? and if so did you check if it still worked the next time you entered?

I did check this on purpose and was very happy when my armor went over 700 after applying the skill points to Resolve :)

Below 50 gear only matters for passives.

Depends on spec perhaps .. but no, highly unlikely. I give the most skilled lvl 10 in the world a 0.000000000001% chance to come close to touching my VR Templar.

well there is a limit to how good your build CAN be at level 10, since you will not have enough skill points nor enough passives to unlock the skills you need to make your envisioned build work thus no amount of skill will make up for an uncomplete build.....I'd say that unless the fully geared lvl 50 VR 10 is [censored] or never heard of pvp before, that there is almost no way a lvl 10 will kill him in a straight up duel......on the other hand a well timed stealth attack on a busy or surprised VR 10 could do the trick

even if some people claim they saw lvl 10 people kill VR 10 guys, keep in mind that there can be various reason for that -> test build, crap gear, lags, or even underestimating the low lvl OR maybe the attacked dude was just opening a bag of chips when suddenly some ass hat comes knocking (happened to me last beta on my lvl 15 :starwars: )
