Question about Resurrection through Necromancy.

Post » Mon Aug 30, 2010 1:49 pm

Would be hypepotheticly possible to raise summon from the dead back to there former body after they died if you soul trapped them and then resurrected the corpse, put the soul in there, and give it free rein? Would people retain the ability to think at the full capacity before death? Would they be able to become a Lich if already undead? Is it possible to put more then one soul in corpse so that they become extremly powerful, and capable of drawing on all of the souls magicka reserves?

Questions, questions, Questions. The necromatic reitual to raise a corpse involves the soul either way, correct?

Ok, another question. Do you need the soul in a gem or can you draw it out from Athruius/oblivion.

Well, 90% of magic is a plot device, but Archmage Voa soultrapped him and shoved him into a longboat just before the Dragon burned the ship down to the waterline.

Yes they needed the soul gem. Paws, didn't Voa save the body and N'Gasta saved the soul? I may have mis-remembered.

A'Tor did it and then Iszara brought it with her when she went to see N'Gasta.

Isn't that technically what a lich is? A soul bound to an undead body retaining free will?

Seems to fit. It differentiates them from bonewalkers too, which (in MW at least) are basically unwilling guardians bound to the confines of their ancestral tomb.

No. Liches gain great arcane power upon becomnig Liches. Resurrection is a diffrent tyhing. Becomeing a lich is done in a diffrent way. You need and hour glass. and a lot of free time.

Are you trying to revive Calandras? Was Amiel stabbing him through the nasal bone not enough for you?

If I recall correctly Lord Kain of Laiynlin (sp?) was also resurrected by using necromancy. However may have retained his memories, but lost his free will and was nothing more than an automaton.

More information on him can be found in the journals that came with Battlehorn Castle.
