Question about retail copy (EASTERN time)

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:44 am

I live in Georgia (EST time for anybody who didnt know, hopefully all of you knew though lol) so I was wondering, since this is running through STEAM will I be able to play my retail copy that I get at 12AM at gamestop? I ask because on STEAM it says 12AM PST (Pacific, which is 3AM EST) but I don't know if thats just for the digital downloads. I figured after we put our CD keys in it would be able to tell we got it retail, but I dunno.

Sorry but I have been seeing so many different answers on here Im a bit confused =\. If you have a link that answers my question id appreciate it.

So am I going to be able to play my retail copy when I get home from Gamestop at like 1AM?

It Unlocks at 12 PST. Annoying for us Easterners, but understandable. If it unlocked at EST, then anyone to the west could unlock and start playing 1-3 hours before intended (or more likely just because Valve is situated in Washington.)

Edit: It's still much better than Tuesday at 1 PM as was originally listed.

Thats kinda crappy though dude, the people who get console versions get to play it as soon as they get home >;[. I wish I would have known this I would have just pre ordered both versions and just waited a while before I got the PC version.

I'm in the same boat. Don't worry about it though. You will be able to play the PC version at 3:00 AM. That's not bad, especially considering you are picking up a retail copy at a midnight launch. By the time you get it home and install it, you will only have a couple more hours to wait. Take a power nap. Party a little longer at the midnight release. Stop and eat some late night fast food. Pop in Road Warrior and watch it. Come on the forums and complain bitterly while hitting F5. There are tons of things to do to kill 2-3 hours. Not much of a wait if you ask me.

I pre-ordered on Steam and already have it pre-loaded. I'm in the same time zone as you. I'm going to go to bed at 8 PM and snooze the hours away until 3 AM, then play myself into a stupor until I have to go to work at noon.

Yeah, I pre-ordered at a Gamestop and I have the day off Tuesday. I'll just take a nap Monday so I'm not so tired at 3 AM. I got the collector's edition, so I'll read through All Roads, check out the DVD and maybe play a little solitaire with the cards to kill time until 3 once I get home from Gamestop.
