Question about "Return to Sender" Quest -

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:16 am

hi!

i recently finished the "Return to Sender" quest, where you realize that Chief Hanlon has been sending bogus intel to the NPC rangers..

To finish the quest. you can either turn him in, keep his secret, or kill him-

If you turn him in or kill him, you will have a chance to get his cool gun-

if you choose to keep his secret, and then follow him back to his balcony chair, you can easily sneak kill him and take his gun-
(my pickpocket skills are too low for his gun to appear as a stealable item)

I was wondering if there are any ramifications later on if you decide to kill him AFTER the mission ends?

it seems he dies anyway with the first 2 quest options...is there any need to keep him alive?

thanks for any help!-

just don't wanna screw something else up later down the road!

Hanlon's death through any means and at any time will impact the NCR ranger ending slide.

Well if your only motivation for turning him in is to get Ranger Sequoia, don't bother. Generic Veteran Rangers carry it around station Delta and you can pick one up after a couple attempts from one of them. If you're fairly far off from encountering the Veteran Rangers and really want RS you could always shoot the gun out of his hands, and then holster your weapon. He should go back to friendly.

Considering the Rangers being my favorite group in the game, and my hope that the DLC coming in a couple months will take place after the final quest, I do my best to make sure they don't
Spoiler
become the laughing stock of the NCR military, fall apart, and eventually disband at the death of Hanlon :nope:
