Question about rings of Mara.

Post » Mon Mar 24, 2014 12:22 am

I need to know if this is possible. I'm purchasing three imperial editions one for each of my brothers.

Is it possible to do the ritual with 2 people? For example, A Pairs up with B, B Pairs up with C, C pairs up with A. I honestly just want us to be leveling at the same time.

Also has their been any info about the percentages of xp boost?

They don't stack.

You can wear one at a time, but you can have multiple rings.

And both members have to be wearing the specific ring? or just one member?

I just want us to all have equal leveling as we level up together. the only way to do this is to either not wear the rings at all or get a fourth member?

Looks like my 10 year old brother is going to be the fourth member of the crew... haha.. :|

I don't know if both members need to be wearing their ring for it to work... I would think that it would, but only that person would gain the benefit while grouped together.

Seeing that you got a 4th member you should be ready to rock 'n roll!

Yes, both. When you use the rings your names are burned into the rings to signify your everlasting commitment and devotion your lover. The marriage doesn't in divorce, or even when the icy grip of oblivion drags you into the abyssal pit for eternity.

Are you sure they both need to be wearing the ring? As you said the names are burned in the side, so if you're grouped with that person you might still gain the benefit even if they're not wearing theirs.

Yes, I'm sure. Both people must wear them.

I hope what you're saying is what actually happens. Because if that's the case, all 3 of us can wear one of the others rings and all get the bonus together. If both of them have to wear it for it to be active, then we have to get a fourth member.

So basically you're locked into only playing (grouping) with that one person that you use the rings with to get the XP gain. If that one person quits the game or is never online you're screwed and have wasted the rings of mara. The rings of mara are a stupid concept and they could of done something more intelligent. Sure it's great for people that are playing with real life spouses, friends, family but not for people using it on random people met in game.

No, rings are removable and you can have several. You can only wear one at a time.

After reading:

https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5711/kw/ring%20of%20mara

and

https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6785/kw/ring%20of%20mara

It doesn't go into the depth of scenarios that we discuss on the forums, so there isn't specific mention that both must wear the rings for at least one person to gain the bonus. Not sure if you're interpreting it differently, or if you have another source.

@SypherPk: What I'm saying won't benefit you the way you're thinking. If you perform the ritual in a triangle type fashion (if that's possible)... you all cannot benefit at the same time as they don't stack. At least I don't think...

Yes I believe they are removable and use up a ring slot...

"While wearing the ring and adventuring with the corresponding partner, both characters will receive a bonus to their experience. This bonus stacks with other, similar effects; however, players cannot stack more than one Ring of Mara."

I've never seen it stated officially that it takes up a ring slot and you can remove them at anytime. The point is you're still locked into only using it with the person who's name is burnt into the ring with yours. Like I said before it's all good if your spouse, family or real life friends are the ones connected to your ring but it could be a pain if you're using them with strangers and they decide to quit the game or are never online. I think the concept could of been implemented much better.
