The one called "Sheogorath" need not be a Daedra. The only reason that the previous Sheogorath was a Daedric Prince was because he was in fact Jyggalag, Daedric Prince of Order.

The CoC is still the Prince of Madness, but not a Daedric one. Likewise, the powers acquired from becoming Sheogorath are pretty restricted, because they are all rooted in the realms themselves.

This is a good theory. I disagree that the previous Sheogorath only was a Daedric Prince, I believe you become one, and end up transforming into Jyggalag. As Lady Nerevar suggests.

Right now, Crimson, your "theory" hangs on the barest of semantics: he mantled the Prince of Madness, oh yes, but not the Daedra.

You now hold the mantle of madness, and Jyggalag is free to roam the voids of Oblivion once more. I will take my leave, and you will remain here, mortal. Mortal...? King? God? It seems uncertain. This Realm is yours. Perhaps you will grow to your station. Fare thee well, Sheogorath, Prince of Madness.

Sheogorath is Daedric, as in he is off the Daedra. Born out of the frightned will of the other Daedra Lords to become the personification of madness/chaos/creativity. So the CoC is very much a Daedra, since he mantled the personification of madness. At the end of the day the idea of mantling is something that takes place at a fundamental level, so becoming the embodiment of a concept means that at level beyond physical definition, you become that sphere entirely. The CoC has been superimposed with the daedra, the only thing left of him is the knowledge/experience of mortality and the track of his life through one continuum.

"Sheogorath" is but the ruler of the Realm of Madness, bound to the Tree of Madness. Jyggalag was a Daedra Prince, thus as Sheogorath he remained a Daedra Prince. The CoC was a mortal, thus as Sheogorath he/she remained a mortal.

Sheogorath, "madgod", lord of the neverthere, the sithis shaped hole of the world. He is not simply a ruler but a god i.e. chaos/madness given a personification which is Sheogorath. Sheogorath is a seperate entity from Jygallag.

When you try to split or break a god many things can happen. In this case Jyggalag was cursed and the personification of madness was formed from the personification of order. So Sheogorath was formed from Jyggalag and is himself a daedric entity. The tree of madness is merely a symbol that Sheogorath has enabled to function in the material realm, he coould easily have created a cow of madness to achieve the same function, it is no more special than the staff of madness, the throne of madness or any of the other symbols that allow the embodiment of the concept of madness to function. The tree of madness is formed from the idea/concept that is Sheogorath. The fundamental concept (sheogorath/madness sphere) to limited form (tree).

The CoC became Sheogorath the personification of madness. A god is a personification of an idea, and the CoC became the madgod i.e. an immortal embodiment of the idea of madness/chaos, not merely a mortal ruler.
