Question about skyrim.

Post » Wed Oct 23, 2013 4:59 pm

Sometimes I go back to play skyrim but I can only play for a couple minutes or an hour at the most. Then I don't play for at least a month. But if I play oblivion I can play for days without getting bored again. Does skyrim lack something that oblivion had? Possibly i could just prefer oblivion but I like them both.

It just doesn't hold your attention long.

I've been playing GTA V straight since Sep 17. Haven't even popped in Skyrim.

Enjoying some time off.

Only you can answer these questions for yourself. For some, Oblivion lacked something Skyrim has. For others Skyrim lacks something Oblivion had.

I have your reaction with Oblivion. I tend to get bored with Oblivion very, very fast. I make characters, play them for a few hours, and then get bored and stop playing. There is not much there to interest me. Skyrim, on the other hand, captured my attention and held it right from the get-go.

Maybe you're just more familiar with Oblivion. I think you need to commit to Skyrim for a reasonable amount of time to really understand how it all works and get the most out of it.

I never really liked Oblivion that much.

Started playing Skyrim again, first new character got bored with at around lvl 25. Second character still a work in progress although this time just doing the main quest lines and exploration.

Still find the biggest problem is the Perks as it tends to force your character into one style of play and that gets boring when playing for many hours.

The other major problem is the various quest lines as they don't really make sense when RPing if you try and do them all.

Also the characters general background chat tends to get boring fast.

Bottom line is Skyrim is just not that good as a role playing game, although it ok for action.

But then even MMOs tend to be crap these days as they try to cater for too many play styles plus adding mini games. I can't even think of decent current RP game. It's getting to the point that you might as well just play FPS games.
