Does the site require the submitters of the mods to submit a virus/spyware report? Kind of nervous about downloading multiple mods, I wanted to know how safe it was. Thank you.

I suspect that files are scanned on-site. It is usually the case, with such sites (being in their own best interests, really).



I have downloaded hundreds (and further hundreds!) of mods from there - as well as elsewhere - and never encountered a single virus or other variety of malware. And I never go online without some serious protection "on high", so to speak. Plus, files are scanned all the time, even when not doing things online. Except when actually playing games, encoding; that kind of thing.

But yes, this is purely anecdotal. I am not here to persuade you. It was only an attempt to reassure you, and I will not do that lightly, when it comes to computer security. Even so, you must do as you see fit.

The only virus problems they have had that I know of is a couple in the pop up ads awhile back - which was more the ad provider's fault and they were taken down promptly once reported --- as far as the mod downloads go you should be safe ( esp. if it is a mod that has many downloads - since any that had a virus would be reported to the moderators fairly quickly and removed ) Also the format of the mod files do not really allow for any executions that would install a virus (they are mostly texture or mesh files or .esp format so no files that could execute code to install a virus other than the few that are packaged with self installers (.exe files) but even those are usually limited to complex mods that are well known.
