Question about the Fort

Post » Wed Jun 09, 2010 7:40 pm

Hey all, My current character is a Legion sympathizer, and I was wondering is there are any weapon merchants at the Fort. I am already aware of Siri and Dale Burton, but...
Spoiler
I kinda pissed off the NCR (they started sending Ranger hit squads after me) and I blew up the BoS bunker

So I was wondering if the the Legion has any dedicated weapon merchants.

Another example of how biased the devs were, because the Legion doesnt have a dedicated weapons merchant, while the NCR has the Gun Runners and Quartermasters.

Gun Runners will sell guns regardless of your reputation with any faction but yeah, the game is biased towards NCR since the Legion doesn't have a Legion-faction Weapons merchant. :cryvaultboy:

Yeah, but the Gun Runners are just RIGHT outside the NCR Sharecropper Farms, well within NCR territory.

Wrong. The Gun Runners sell at normal prices to anyone and everyone, regardless of what faction they should support, what their reputation is, and what clothing they wear. Too bad their weaponry is all at max condition though, that augments the total price significantly.

You guys make it sound like you're marching into Berlin, 1939. It's extremely easy to avoid NCR if you'd like to, and if you don't (as I might imagine, since you probably killed a bunch of them already), there really aren't that many troops on the road. Once you've enabled the map marker, you should be able to fast travel to and from Gun Runners with impunity. This is by design.

Well if your playing a real NCR hater then you shouldn't be funding the Gun Runners and by extension the NCR. Besides guys the Legion by design uses some pretty poor technology for the most part, they aren't really a capitalist nation, I can see where the devs were coming from here; they wanted a Legion like faction and didn't feel like hammering an unusually capitalistic quartermaster - because I doubt that really armouries work as stores - I admire when making gameplay balanced or whatever takes a backseat to proper lore.

The only problem with the gun runners is that my character uses melee/unarmed weapons, but I just discovered the Great Khan Armorer and she was selling a chainsaw and mantis guantlet...so im happy.

My Problem was I was swimming (Scrooge McDuck style) in Legion Aureus due to the supply drop but (other than Casinos changing them over to caps) I couldn't give them away (which I did at great lengths with coin shot)
