Question about the game graphics !!

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 2:21 am

Can anyone who knows tell me what is the difference between very high and extreme settings in the game menu ? Because i didn't saw any big difference when i select extreme setting but the frame rate is getting about 15 fps low.

So any person with some knowledge can tell what is changing in the extreme setting ? Bigger shaders and shadows resolutions, bigger lightning and effect resolutions ? Basically what is changing in extreme setting, cuz i didn't saw any difference( well big difference). Can anyone saw a difference ? Please answer !!

There really aren't any as far as I can tell, when I switch between the two, there are no noticeable differences.

Any PC that's not 5 years old or older should be able to run this game on Extreme anyway.

No, really, I can't tell the difference between any of them. They all look worse than C1 or Wars IMO.

Actually theres a pretty dramatic difference in draw distance, You can also see a difference in draw distance for details.
Theres also a difference the shadows, but i think Extreme looks worse than Very High:P
(Pro-tip to game developers. Theres a difference between soft, and blurry shadows)

Here are two pictures.
Look at the bridge, all the stuff on the pier, the boat and the wall

If my eyes are working properly then i can safely say very high looks better than extreme.Textures in very high is sharper than extreme.

Hmm, some things appeared, and others disappeared. Only real thing I can see is that there is now better reflection on the water.

@cooldudsubho: Yeah i noticed that too. Strange. I think i will play on very high, extreme isn't bringing a strong difference in quality vs. very high.

I haven't found any bigger differences in any spec. I get a solid 40 FPS on each. Only the long range detail and the MSAA. Nothing else.

There's also a difference in smoke and particle effects nubs.

i think they add better shadows and lighting but turn down some effects to achieve the high framerates in extreme. So they are all pretty much the same thing, but without a different set of advanced effects turned on.

the big frame drop on extreme setting is due to alot more AA being used, that is the biggest diference visually as well , this is why things look more blurry on extreme , it is not real multi sampling AA it is edge blurring AA

Man with the very high setting, the game looks very nice, in my optinion better than extreme. So why? Extreme is using some kind of blur, shadow blur ? Can anyone tell me how much in percent % is extreme better in quality than very high.
