I have yet to beat the Morrowind main quest line, or just about any quest line really. I'm that pathetic. Anyways, I have a question. I only know some basics from post Morrowind. I know that the Nerevarine left for an expedition to Akavir. What for, I have no bloody idea. However, could it be possible to see the Nerevarine again? Appear in a DLC or even be involved in a quest/questline for a future TES? I know a definite appearance from the Nerevarine would have people all riled up for various reasons such as "amagerd he's not teh gendar of my naraverin" and "my nurverin was a purple dunmer not a nord wtf" so this brings up a question I've been wondering for a while, the original one I wanted to ask:

After time, would the Nerevarine assume/mantle the identity of Indoril Nerevar, similar to the CoC and Sheogorath? From what I understand, the Nerevarine is the reincarnation of Nerevar, so perhaps after time Indoril starts to shine through the Nerevarine and he morphs back into what he was.

Doubtful. The Nerevarines journey to Akavir was but a rumor. His job is for all intents and purposes, finished, and there's little reason the wandering hero will find himself being apart of mass chain of events again. That and "Well MY Nerevarine was the CoC and the Dovahkiin and..." from a few players.

Or maybe they could do it like Kortor 2 did and someone talks about him and you give ur opinion what he/she race was and they go oh i always thought he was so and so and when u meet them they take the gender/race of what you said in your opinion to that npc.

Not really. The CoC adopts the mantle of Sheogorath through rituals (and, I presume, direct exposure to the waters of Mania and Dementia.) The Nerevarine, however, is a mortal born with the soul of St. Indoril Nerevar, but is a distinct person unto themselves.

This is, in fact, very similar to the Dovahkiin. The Dovahkiin is a mortal born with a Dragon's soul; although their draconic nature shows through by their easy mastery of the Thu'um, they will not turn into a dragon, grow dragon wings, become scaly, etc. Nerevar's soul, too, will not be able to cause physical changes on the mortal shell beyond the ability to wear One-Clan-Under-Moon-and-Star without being killed.

Finally, we're not clearly sure if the Nerevarine is, in fact, the reincarnation of St. Nerevar, a clever imperial imposter, or a ruse from Azura herself who finds a convenient puppet for her revenge. Although there's more indications that Nerevarine=Reborn Nerevar, you could easily make an argument that Nerevarine=/=Reborn Nerevar.

Does it really matter who the Nerevarine is? or for that matter does it matter who any of the PC's are?

The PC's are heroes which appear in a certain time period and save the world from a certain threat. Whatever happened afterwards is ambiguous.

And again (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) the CoC might have become Sheogorath or he might not have.

I'm just trying to picture a purple Dunmer.
