Question about unarmed and progression

Post » Thu Sep 29, 2011 1:06 am

Ya think? cause that would be nice.

and i hate to say it, but i may have prematurely jumped the gun. If hand to hand is tied to a skill of 2 handed or something like that. wouldn't hand to hands base damage just increase along the same lines that your 2 handed base damage increases? and if so, if you got your two handed up, wouldnt there be a chance that the animation could change from dumb brawling to something else, because it never says anything about using a sword or axe in the perks list, just that it's all 2 handed.

The only skill tree tied to Hand-to-Hand combat is Heavy Armor. And you need to pick up the perk for it.

so hand to hand isn't 2 handed or 1 handed or anything?
it's just there for the sake of being there?

Well, it's been confirmed that it's actually pretty darn powerful even without perks or special gloves, and that you get some nice finishers.

I appreciate the desire to play a Hand-to-Hand type character, but honestly, it always felt a little silly to be beating on Frost Atronachs with my fists. Trying to take on dragons would just feel ridiculous.

lol it's gotta be the same amount of unbelievable as killing a dragon with a small dagger. or blunt weapon. I just don't get why in a game about choice, people would bash other people on their choices. especially for a single player game. nothing i do effects your game in the slightest.

I am curious how well the hand to hand combat is going to be in Skyrim. I am looking forward to beating the hell out of a Dark Elf with my bare fists.

Anyone know if we get sneak damage multipliers for stealth? I'd love to equip to heavy gauntlets (light armour for everything else though) both enchanted with the +unarmed damage and sneaking around snapping necks =D

Thank god for that heavy armour gauntlet perk though. Means hand-to-hand actually has 'weapons' in a sense, so when your using say steel and you find dwenmer gauntlets, you not only found a better piece of armour but your next h2h weapon too =]

It'll be interesting for modders though as hopefully that same perk can be applied to custom made gauntlets in the form of h2h weapons. The only thing missing for me is to be able to enchant gauntlets to have attack enchantments on punch, rather than always being protective.

i know what ya mean. I just don't want to feel like i'm forced into playing as a certain character because the character i want to play as doesn't work, at that point, i wouldn't actually enjoy the game. (some of you may think it's funny, but Morrowind (it was a real [censored] in there), Oblivion, star wars galaxies, knights of the old republic 1 and 2, city of heroes, saints row 2, soon to be saints row the third, champions online...every one of those games i played as an unarmed character. that's how i like to play games. so this really is a make or break for me.

It's no longer a skill, so using it won't get you leveled up, but it's more powerful than ever before. Works for me.

i'm not sure why i didn't add fallout and new vegas to that list (the fact that you could do sweep attacks in new vegas was so mindblowingly awesome to me. loved it! that and the ability to slow down time. i was kung fu'ing evvvvvvverybody)

If there are perks and enchants for unarmed combat then it could turn out to be pretty cool. Maybe we'll get some more info before the game drops.
