Question about Uriel Septim I (first)

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:42 pm

OKay, through some research, I've gathered this:

Tiber Septim was born 2E 827 and died of old age at 108(?) on 3E 38 (remembering the declaration of the Third Age and the end of the second on 2E 897.)

If this is to kinda reflect the age that most live to, and taking into account the additional years that may have been added due to him ascending to divinity ("assuming" that even happened)

Then, take into account the others who died at ripe old ages throughout the Spetim bloodline...and Uriel Spetim VII dying prematurely (I don't know if you can call it that if Fate had dictated it) at 87...

When do you suppose that Uriel Septim I was born? I know he died on 3E 64...

If taking into account that the Septim bloodline would have the descendants dying at the age of roughly 100, he would've been born in 2E 867...

If he lived only about 80 years, it would be 2E 877.

his reign on the throne was extrememly nondescript...besides solidying the Empire further and ensuring peace during his reign...

I'm kinda curious. What would be a reasonable birthdate or age he lived to? Alot fo the events around the time are not clearly marked out in years...no other relatives of the bloodline are even mentioned enough to allow for me to figure it out...

Or I just svck at this.

::EDIT:: yeah...just caught the wrongness...changed the name.

Uriel Septim I and Tiber Septim are not the same person.

Edit: Oh, I see it just a small typo in the mid-post where you call Uriel Septim I "Tiber Septim I", my bad :)

To further collaborate (not that I did previosly), I don't think you can assume that all emperors had long lives and were only crowned in their 60s or 70s. As in case of Uriel Septim VI, was 5 when he technicaly became the Emperor. And he died 30 years later (which means he was 35 then). Uriel Septim VII, on the other hand, was 87 when he died and had sons 30 years younger than him. Should he have lived to his timely death at ~100 (he was royalty after all), his elder son would've been late 60s or early 70s (too lazy to check). So this way it would fit the scheme (not taking into consideration that Uriel Septim VII himself was 22 when he took the throne). So yeah, if you can make out anything from this, what I'm saying is, it really depends on the case itself. Without more information there is not many assuptions that can be made.

I know it's difficult...and I guess we'll never know what to say till the Lore in that area gets fleshed out a little more.

I'm looking also to see what others would say...when they think he should've been born.

I'm working on a mod and fleshing out the story right now on how everything fits together, and it deals with a couple people during Uriel I's reign...and..well...I need more dates.

If in the future, the lore gets fleshed out and people still play the mod, or I work on making sure it plays well with other mods...I really don't mind changing the date should the Lore become more expletive on him and his reign.

With his reign being so 'normal' and nothing really huge happening...maybe we can look at the solidification of the Mages and Fighter's guild...or when some important laws passed during his reign.
