I don't see the need to apologize for wanting human-to-human vs. human-to-google conversation.

I picked up a pack of Tim Tams years ago at a specialty grocer, and wasn't that impressed. One of our Aussie members should come by soon and offer up some wisdom on how to best enjoy this snack.

Tim Tams are a chocolate tampon made by Arnott’s Tampons, Australia.

It looks like your standard Penguin bar, in any case.

I'm from New Zealand, close enough? :P I think Tim Tams are rubbish, too dry. Probably best with coffee.

I'm from Sydney, and I love Tim Tams. Especially with milk. I like to bite off both ends, and then svck the milk through it like a straw.

According to wiki, you may actually be able try them yourself without too much hassle:

...with select distribution of caramel and chocolate crème flavours in Target stores, exclusively but nationwide.

...announced that Tim Tam biscuits will be made available each year between October and March... in various stores.

So find a Target, take a look, and take a bite :P.

 Is it just me or a lot of people joining up from NZ recently?

Anyway, same as above, from NZ, not Australia but I think Tim Tams are great biscuits! They're pretty good to dunk since they're quite a 'meaty' biscuit and they are pretty awesome to melt and make S'mores or something.

Or melt and just spread over someones face...

I love Tim Tams. Great with milk. Like Oreos. But I HATE Vegimite (but its alright with toast).

EDIT: But, yes Aussies and Kiwis sell the same thing. We're like brothers.

Chocolate... tampons?

That can't be practical. Don't they melt?

I'm pretty sure the UK didn't export the Royal Marines concept to Australia (id est, we don't have any), and I doubt it'd lend us some to invade another Commonwealth country.

Well if we really do invade NZ, it won't exactly work, cos we basicly share an Army, so techniclly, we are invading ourselves. ANYWAYS, this topic is about TIM-TAMS cos they nice.

Black Forest Tim Tams. They are the BEST. A few packets of them a week got me through exams. Them and the....I can't remember if they're toffee, or butterscotch, or something that is neither of those, but they're delicious anyway.

Caramel, perhaps?

EDIT: On the subject of (subjectively) foreign foods, I've got a craving for stroopwafel, and at this time of night I'd have to walk two kilometres to get them :(.

Reading about all this chocolate related biscuitry has made me hungry. Anyone heard of Petit Ecolier? I love them so much - It's biscuit coated in milk chocolate. So tasty.

I've had those, they are good.

Someone asked about Ovaltine. It's been around for many decades in the US (They used to sponsor radio shows in the 1930s and 40s) and you can still buy it in supermarkets, both the original flavor and chocolate. Reminds me that I should buy more someday, it's been a couple of years since I last had it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ovaltine

Edit: Man, I forgot about PDQ beads until reading that wiki article just now. They were good, another powder to mix with milk. Egg-nog flavor, I had forgotten that too.

You Canadians are lucky to have the chocolate bar Coffee Crisps. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee_Crisp

If you're talking about the drink then yes the US has Ovaltine

Well at least I've seen the commercials for it though I think I've only seen it in stores maybe once or twice and that was quite a while ago.

Never tried it myself
