Question on enchanting Ancient Falmer Armor

Post » Wed Aug 07, 2013 2:17 pm

I wanted to enchant and improve my falmer armor but since my skill in both enchanting and smithing are lower than 60 I can't improve them that much.

So I was wondering if I enchant and improve now will I be able to upgrade them further once I get my skills higher up? Which I'm guessing is going to take some time as I don't use exploits that seem like cheating.

(You would think I would know the answer to this by now as I have spent literally hundreds of hours in the game)

also, any tips or tricks on getting my smithing and enchanting skills up that don't involve crazy exploits would be more than appreciated as I seem to have hit a wall in getting them last the low 60s.

Any advice would be nice.

Sure, find or buy gold and gems and smith jewely. It's an honorable trade and isn't cheating. You'll need silver for certain gems and gold for others, the more expensive the better since the value of the item determines how much experience you get for it.

you'll be able to keep upgrading with smithing but enchants are permanent

If you plan on wearing the Ancient Falmer Armor as your end-game armor, don't enchant it until you've got your Enchanting skill maxed. Once you place an enchantment on an item, you cannot remove or improve the enchantment; it's permanent. So make sure you've got your skill where you want it before you do any enchanting.

Ok, thanks for r the speedy replies.

I am planning on wearing it as my endgame armor, imo it's the best looking light armor with some rather nice starting stats(the best??) Unless Dragonborn has better, I'll probably end up getting and playing that tonight..... depends if I get bored with what I have going on with DG and vanilla.

DB has the BEST armor you can find IMO although it is debatable. The DeathBrand Stahlrim set is my favorite but may not be yours.

Ancient Falmer Armor is the second best armor in the game in terms of Armor Rating; it's got the Armor Rating of Glass Armor. However, it's got no perk attached to it, so you can't improve it as much, so be aware of that.

Hold off on enchanting it.

If you're sword and board, make sure to get Auri-El's shield to complement it.
