a question for Bethesda regarding the IP

Post » Sat Oct 23, 2010 6:43 pm

according to a wide variety of sources; Fallout 1, 2, tactics and BoS are still property of Interplay

according to court; Interplay still has the rights for the MMORPG

so... what's going on here?

(and on a serious note, if this thread isn't allowed... then I'm curious as to why)

Answers as I know them in bold

according to a wide variety of sources; Fallout 1, 2, tactics and BoS are still property of Interplay

Interplay has/had the rights to continue to sell the games.

according to court; Interplay still has the rights for the MMORPG

That one is still in the air and waiting for the ruling. But they could still make an MMO as long as it has no direct connection to Fallout. Though I doubt Interplay will/could have remained viable as a company long enough to make one profitable regardless of the legal case. They were hemoragging cash and staff faster than they were taking cash and staff in

Because it's an ongoing legal issue and it's not really a good idea to discuss an ongoing legal situation anywhere outside of the courtroom.
