Question: how many souls does one NPC have?

So okay, i have played this game from when it came out and played over 700 800 hours with 2 chars and i only just figured this out :facepalm:

uhm, if you dont torture them like that.....you need a black soul gem to capture a human soul. i dont know if you can use them. ive never tried it. and if you didnt know the alter to get the black soul gems requires a grand soul gem (i think) and dispel on target. buit it has to be on a certain day at night. you can tell when that is by a light pillar.

Dispel worked on only one character for me. All other characters have had to use soul trap to convert soul gems to black soul gems.
