Question on OMODs

Post » Sun Sep 26, 2010 8:56 am

I have a simple quesion: Is there a easy way to make an OMOD backup the files he`s going to overwrite upon activation, so it can put back the original files after I`ve deactivated the OMOD again?

No. This is the one big disadvantage of OBMM compared to BAIN.

The easiest (IMHO) would be to note which omod that was the owner of the overwritten resources, and then deactivate+activate that omod afterwards, to get its files back.

Or, just use BAIN...a much better way to manage mods...

Basically use BAIN to manage mods, with OBMM for anything that needs (or is easier with) a scripted install.

I was thinking of that method too. It does not seem to be such an disadvantage then. You just switch between the two OMODs. Of course, if your OMOD starts to overwrite files of several other OMOD things get more complicated. But I think this won`t be the case, because I won`t use a lot of mods and nothing complex like FCOM.

Thank you for all the replies.
